Black menu screen and crash - Sharpshooter Extreme Graphics Classic EN

I have the Sharpshooter Extreme Graphics Classic ENB. I am 100% sure I've installed it correctly. However, when I launch Skyrim with the mod on, this happens to my menu:

And, when I press Continue, the game crashes. What the heck?

For the record, here is my Skyrim folder:

And my specs:

Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz
8GB 1600Hz RAM

Windows 8.1 x64

Asus GTX770 DirectCUII OC

You're missing the "enbseries" folder. Should contain files like enbbloom, enbeffect, etc. which are somehow all in your main Skyrim folder.

You're also missing the "Enbhost.exe" and the "enblocal.ini".

All are quite essential for all ENB's I know.

That's odd. I'm sure that folder wasn't there at all. But I managed to find enbbloom and enbeffect, so I created a "enbseries"-folder and placed them there. The other two files is nowhere to be found. I'll do a test run now.

It still won't work. But I have found something that may have something to do with this problem. You see, this mod requires d3d9.dll (as you can see). I tried to remove it, and now the game runs like normal. The ENB does not work though, and as soon as I put d3d9.dll back in the Skyrim folder, the game crashes. Hm.

Copy-pasted installation instructions from the Somber ENB lut Sepia description page:

  • Download the ENB Binary version from ENBDEV: http://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.htm
  • The only files you want are the d3d9.dll and enbhost.exe files. Do NOT install the entire folder! Use the ones from the wrapper folder first (if those don't work for you try the injector version). Copy those two files to your Skyrim folder.
  • When you are done you should have added a total of 4 files (d3d9.dll, enbhost.exe, enblocal.ini, and enbseries.ini) and one folder (enbseries) to your Skyrim directory. You may need to set the enbhost.exe file to run as the administrator (right click, properties, compatibility tab, near bottom check "run program as administrator") and make sure it is not being blocked by an anti-virus program.

Didn't see any of this on the Sharpshooter description page, but you will need to follow the above procedure in order to make your ENB work.
