More fixes: Wiki, download history, favourites games, profiles

For months now (nearing 6 months) we have been promised a stable nexus experience. I cannot agree that that has happened. I still get 500 errors. I click on the comments icon and get downloads, I click on search and get comments. I still get 'Error' when attempting to download from premium servers.

As a Lifetime Premium subscriber I originally subscribed as I thought the money would help improve the service, in fact the opposite has happened, the service has deteriorated.

I can't help but agree with a comment stating that the service should have been fixed and stabilized before expanding the nexus network. It feels as though the Nexus network is expanding to increase revenue at the expense of service to users.

It surely should not take 6 months to provide a stable service.

In response to post #10626003.

the service has deteriorated.

It definitely hasn't. It's got a lot better, evidenced by the fact you were able to post this at all on a busy Sunday at 7PM, which is typically the time when the sites would have been down no matter what over the past 6 months.

It is getting better.

If you don't think your money has helped or is helping then ask for a refund. I'll give it to you. I don't want any Premium Members here who don't want to be Premium Members. That's not what I do it for.

I whole-heartedly invite you to try your hand at creating and running a network of sites with this much traffic on a shoe-string budget without selling out. Or alternatively, I whole heartedly invite you to pay for the entirety of the server infrastructure that would be needed to ensure we never have any issues of this nature at all. It'll be somewhere in the region of £300,000-£400,000, or about $500,000-$600,000. That'd be the initial server hardware and infrastructure outlay. There'd be high monthly/yearly charges on top of that too.

It's been more like 2 years, ever since Skyrim came out, and we're still fighting to sort it out.

Don't let yourself get discouraged. Basically, you're doing Bethesda's and Valve's s--t. And you're doing it much better, as they don't even provide compliant support or even a half-decent platform for modding. The so-called Steam Workshop is a joke, my 12-year old kids could do better if they'd learn to code now. Given the fact that they have much more funds and a better infrastructure you should be proud of your work. I would be. And even if I don't like all changes, I am willing to wait as long as it takes to fix this site and give it a new polish - because, and that is the main fact, you don't sell out to the evil empire and don't let Bugthesda meddle in this whole thing here.

Most people do not understand how many users the Nexus has because basically 85% of Bethesda gamers end up downloading here, instead of over there. Millions of people. Let alone the infrastructure to handle such a mass of clients glitch-less is barely imagineable for people not working in this sector. Maybe they don't want to understand, maybe they can't. Maybe they can't understand that a life-time membership is more than they will get everywhere on this planet. Support has ended for Skyrim, Windows and others. Bethesda lays its hands idle in this matter - "let the dumb users sort the bugs out, they paid, not our problem" ... What some people don't understand either is the complexity of modding and the related petabytes of traffic.

So do your work, one thing after the other, be proud, be calm and keep the Nexus as it is. My hat goes off to you.

NMM 0.46.0 still will not download the metadata. Makes it impossible for newbies to install a mod.

Unless there is something that explains how you can install a mod correctly without NMM, I am still stuck waiting. I have been told on other posts that metadata is essential in installation of mods.

I can play but if I don't have all the mods I want installed then play is a waste of time because I have to go back to a clean save and restart when I finally have all the mods in.

I really liked NexusMods and still do. I upgraded to premium and I don't regret it yet.

I wish we could go somewhere to learn of progress of fixing NMM issues.

I understand the immensity of your task and wish you had broken it into smaller parts/stages so you wouldn't be so completely disrupted. Sigh, hindsight is always better.

I think you may not be able to really get working again till next year. I guess I have to keep checking back and play/do something else.

This isn't the place to report any sort of bug with NMM. The NMM bug tracker is, which can be accessed via the links within NMM or in the top right hand corner of the forums. Thanks.
