Hello, I have been trying to using the Fallout 4 Creation Kit through Mod Organizer 2. I have managed to get the CK running just fine, but when I click on File -> Data and try to look for the esm/esp of a mod I have installed, nothing shows up. Is there a special trick to it that I can not find via a google search? Thank you for your time.

It doesn't sound like you are running Creation Kit through Mod Organizer at all. At least, that's what happened when I tried to launch the exe directly a few years back. You have to run it through the organizer or it can't find your mods. make sure you added it to your mod organizer through the modify executable option (click the gears icon) and then you need to also tick the Overwrite Steam ID box and add 1946160 as the ID (or creation kit won't boot). Make sure all your mods are enabled in mod organizer first, and finally, make sure to boot the creation kit through Mod Organizer just as you would boot the game. it should all work properly after that.

as said just use creationkit.exe like fo4edit or fo4gen within mo2 and configured as an executable within your mo2 profile and run it through mo2. you do not need vortex or any other tool at all. by the way it runs "cleaner" than vortex because it does not need your game data folder as an entry folder.

do not use admin mode. be warned, it does not help but introduces a bunch of negative side effects if you are not 100% sure what you do!

Mod Organizer 2 was made by the same person until he was hired onto the Nexus team to make Vortex. There's no issue using either and you can easily do literally everything MO2 can do with Vortex, there isn't a single feature to my knowledge that each one doesn't have.
Vortex is easier to use in this scenario because there is no setup needed at all to use the Creation Kit with your mods, they're already in the folder. Same with any external tool, FO4Edit, etc

It just depends on what you want to do. Do I want to have to open MO2 EVERY time I want to work on making my mods? no, I don't
