courtykat
I have a conflict between two mods: Mod #1 is dependent on Mod #2 in order for them to be compatible, but in more recent updates, Mod #2 changed its file extension to be an ESM. It's still the same mod and should technically still be compatible, but Mod #1 is "missing its master" and therefore won't load because the file extension isn't the same. Is there any way I can change the name of Mod #1's dependency, so that it recognizes the ESM as a master rather than the ESP? HeyYou
xEdit should give you the ability to do that.
courtykat
Ok, but I'm asking how?
HeyYou
That, I don't know.... Never had to deal with it. There should be a field that lists master files, wonder if you could simply change the name of the file in question? (in that field.) courtykat
I found the answer with a bit more searching. It requires adding the launch arguments "-IKnowWhatImDoing -AllowMasterFilesEdit" to xEdit, THEN the master files can be renamed.
