Faythnu
Can Vortex support Dragon Age Inquisition? If not, would it ever be possible?

Faythnu
What I mean is, can Vortex be expanded to allow Dragon Age Inquisition mods to be installed too? I know the formats of Inquisition are a lot different than DAO and DA2, but there are so many games Vortex supports, I wondered if Inquisition could ever be one of them. It isn't there now as far as I can see. If I'm wrong about that, please tell me? With the .package, dazip, fbmod, and daimod files it gets so confusing. Also, some mods ask to be installed manually as well. Even with Vortex (for DAO and DA2) you have an override file in your Bioware folder (the stuff you download manually) and an override file in your Appdata folder (the stuff you download with Vortex) to contend with. This makes deleting mods a bit tricky. And with Inquisition, you have the DAI MOD Manager and Frosty MOD Manager to deal with too! I wish I was more knowledgeable on all this stuff as it can get really confusing, at least for me (thank goodness for YouTube!). Having a mod installer that could "do it all" would be so wonderful. Vortex, although I'm new to this mod manager and still learning, gives me hope that such a one-size-fits-all manager could be possible!
Solution Tannin42 Posted March 20, 2023 Solution Share Posted March 20, 2023 DA Inquisition uses the Frostbite Engine which isn't easy to mod, currently we have no support for any such game.Fundamentally Vortex can be extended to support any game but many games do still require developer work, the first game of any engine is a particular hurdle, after that you can usually reuse most of the logic. Faythnu
Thanks for the response. Good to know. There are so many games out there for Vortex to focus on, I can understand the reluctance against trying to overcome the technical difficulties of this one. Chances are, the next Dragon Age (Dreadwolf?) will use this Frostbite engine too, so it's just something we'll all have to learn to live with.
