How High Do You Play ?

I beat the game at Master difficulty before I started modding. Currently playing SkyRe on Master difficulty, played two characters on it (1 was my old save that looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I used him to try out Conan Hyborian Age mod. Current play through is a level 14 witch hunter). Debating between staying on this difficulty or moving down to Expert. The thing is, on Expert, I do too much damage in proportion to what I receive IMO, on Master I receive too much in proportion to what I deal. LOL. I would have preferred something on equal standing but oh well doesn't exist. Although it may be due to the fact that my weapons and armor are unimproved at the smithy as of the moment, which is why I'm holding off lowering the difficulty.

Overhauls like SkyRe and Requiem are recommended for starting new characters, but in SkyRe's case it's not necessary but better IMO.

I've had one character reach 75, another in the mid 60's 2 in the 50's, and several that only made the 20's, 30's or 40's because of technical issues. And pretty much all of them were with SkyRe installed. I wouldn't say I've mastered the game, though I play on Master and only die occasionally. In all those playthroughs I've only beaten the main quest twice, and Dawnguard and Dragonborn once each. I basically play until my character achieves what I wanted him or her to do (I've roleplayed all but my first two characters) and then give them some sort of fitting retirement when I'm ready for a new character. I have a folder with backups of all my old saves but I've never booted them up again, so I guess it's sorta pointless.

As for leveling, well I remember my level 75 character just felt like a grind, taking forever to level that much. But I was playing as a vampire with vampire mods and killing people by draining their blood doesn't level any skills :). My current character is in the low 50's and even though I cranked the leveling rates way down using the Uncapper, I still level really frequently. Probably because of mods like Hunterborn that levels Wayfarer, and all the mods that add more spawns and extend questlines. I really haven't accomplished anything with this character besides joining one Guild so I'm guessing I still have a long way to go with her. Might even make it to level 80.

I just keep playing the same character. Everyday in skyrim is different. At lvl130 and 278 hours, I'm not tired of my current character yet.

Good god, I'd love to know what character you're playing...and how your playing him/her not to get bored. In my current playthrough i was an orc beserker using conjuration, alchemy and enchanting. Got to level 26 and simply got bored to death with him. Really don't know why, Was using quite a few mods (including skyrim redone) i think mainly i was in several minds how to develop the character further.

I had planned on using the conjuration tree fully (necromancy), but after getting the 'resurrection' spell it become less of an objective for me ..since i could have a conjured follower for an indefinite time...and keep resurrecting the same one if it was a vampire...they were pretty useful! This spell (resurrection) should have a time limit and when the creature dies turn into a pile of ash to avoid that.

Starting a new character tomorrow.

My current character is level 19.He is a Khajiit. My goal is to make him a deadly assasin. So far he has pretty high stealth and marksmanship for his level(both are 50+).I have the main game and all the dlc's.My current focus is building my first hearthfire home...stick by stick I will mine/gather whats needed to build my home. After that I'll get back to working again on a quest line. I could not imagine playing the game without the SKYRE mod.(my character can enchant and has good alchemy skills.... but only knows what magic books happen to come into him possesion. He would never think of buying a spell book)

I'm not sure how far I will go but expect to be playing at least till April 14th.I don't know enough about Elder Scrolls Online to know if I'll play it(and that frankly is disturbing given how close to launch we are).

To play at such high difficulty levels is incomprehensible .How would you ever damage a dragon or tough foe.Your crafting/enchanting/alchemy must be off the charts to have equippment that would allow you to survive.Perhaps you have mods that alow some incredible spells to be cast ?

I agree that Skyrim changes every day and why I just keep playing my character as she, yeah said ... she, because so many MODs are out for females than males. I have 10 followers all female and enjoy them all going about kicking enemies, well, you know what I mean ;-)

My character is at lvl 97 currently, the MODs are what make the game interesting beyond however you play. I've set my game at Master, so the game just progresses as I play along. You have to enjoy the game however you play, it's why it is a game.

I play a breton bandit of sorts. I only wear bandit clothes, and the only weapon I use is a scimitar that I got off a dead redguard's body(those Ali'kir warrior dudes). I don't upgrade the sword because I become too powerful if I do. I don't use a shield either. I block with my sword and rely on the first perk entry of the block skill only.

I play with WARZONE(works ok for me, but lots of people got problems with it), Immersive Patrols(Brigands and Travelers plugin to be specific, others not compatible with WARZONE), Dance of Death, Moonlight Tales and Deadly Dragons.

Deadly Dragons really ramped up the difficulty and require me to actually plan ahead before each assault, and I use the expert difficulty setting on it.

And despite playing on novice, I do get my ass kicked with the above play style. And that's just how I like it.

I'll also point out that I tend to get lost roaming around in skyrim. I rely on those road signs A LOT.
