How to mod a location in an existing game

I'm almost positive that its possible to do this but I've forgotten how and can't find the info after lots of searching. I want to mod a location (a very small one) that I've already discovered. Specifically, It turns a shack into a player home. How do I go about this? Any help is appreciated.

There is almost certainly an exterior door on the shack. All you'll have to do is create the interior the way that you want it to be, and then make the door teleport the player to that interior, rather than wherever it's currently sending the player.

So again, step one, create the interior to be the proper player home you'd like it to be.

Then once you have that interior ready to plug into place, make the door reference that interior. You'll either be adding a teleport or replacing an existing one, depending on how the shack door is currently set up. Then don't forget to make the interior door link properly back outside :)

I'm sorry, I realize now I was totally unclear about this. All I'm trying to do is install a mod that alters a location in an existing game save. It turns it into a player home and makes some minor changes to the interior. (I couldn't make a mod to save my life.)

If it alters an interior that you've already visited, chances are you won't be able to do it. The game saves information on interior locations in your save file and the new mod won't be able to overwrite that. So things will still be in the places they were when you visited it.
