gsmanners
I prefer Leather Armor or Recon Armor, as that forces you to rely more on stealth and well-placed land mines. One mistake, though, and you better be ready to go with the combat shotgun.
mxninja
I use the Ranger Combat armor. I have an OLD CRT monitor and can't see crap. So I have the Goggle Vision mods that seem to only work with Combat Armor as I can wear the goggles and the Helmet at the same time.
C6Aviation
I usually choose something that looks good. Tennpenny's Suit, Eulogy Jones' suit, Simms' Duster, Pre-war attire(NOT dirty or Grimy). If I need DR, General Chase's Overcoat works(+20DR I believe, as well as +1 CHR and +5 Small Guns). I don't usually wear any sort of power armor because it's loud and clanky, and most suits negatively affect the agility and sneak skills my play style relies on. They also look bland, I hate looking like just another Expend-a-soldier. Even the T51-B, which doesn't alter those stats, is noisy. I can't hear things coming over it. I do carry a T51-B, however, incase I absolutely need a 50DR outfit to escape something. My style of play, when executed properly, pretty much negates the need for any sort of heavy armor anyways. I'm usually sniping people long before they even show up on my HUD(And my Perception is 10, so that's way the hell out there). :)
SilusCrow
Recently I've been rocking the Wasteland Wanderers outfit, but when it comes to armor, it all depends on the situation. If I'm in, say, Raven Rock, I'll go for Combat Armor as it's much stealthier. If I'm in, say the Dunwich Building, then I'll either have out a Flamer or a melee weapon, so it won't matter if I'm stealthy or not.
TotallyNotToastyFresh
I don't have a preference to armor, really. I just use whatever seems appropriate to the weapon I'm using. If I'm using a minigun I'll wear power armor, but anything else, I'll wear leather armor, chinese stealth suit, or something else.
deckel11
I use Armored Vests for my damage resistance, and for looks I wear the black Merc Duster (Merc Dusters mod, basicly 4 weathered retex's of the COL Autumn coat) along with the Shady Hat and Lucky Shades. I think the look suits the F3 environment. Highly recommend both mods, by the way (Armored Vests, Merc Dusters). Oh, and I also wear the Blackwolf Backpack. Looks good, gives you extra carrying capacity, plus a small increase to damage resistance.
evilneko
I definitely love the Armored Vests mod for letting me wear whatever I want for looks. ;)
deckel11
I definitely love the Armored Vests mod for letting me wear whatever I want for looks. ;) For sure. I was endlessly debating wearing some type of Power Armor for the damage resistance, though I didn't care for the look. Armored Vests lets you wear what you want, and not die constantly. evilneko
What's the point of having a body replacer, when you can't see your body right? :D
theLeeHarvey
My style of play, when executed properly, pretty much negates the need for any sort of heavy armor anyways. I'm usually sniping people long before they even show up on my HUD(And my Perception is 10, so that's way the hell out there). smile.gif Exactly my situation. I move in sneak mode a lot and power armor is just too noisy. Deckel11 - I agree about the backpack, its a useful item and it just makes sense that your character would have to have some sort of pack to carry all the loot around. it's not as if combat armor has very large pockets, lol.
