363rdChemicalCompany
I enjoy lighting up my settlements in the wasteland as a beacon to people everywhere.Earlier today I created a new profile on Vortex thats a clone of my main one to test a new mod (expansion of mojave desert). But now I note that all settlement lighs have suddenly dimmed.I recently also set my visual quality a notch lower from Ultra to "high" , since I got stuttering at "Ultra" despite my new gaming machine. I played on various settings before and had no light issues. I am aware of the two (?) "more light" mods on nexus, but I do not want to fix via a mod which is likely a setting somewhere else. Any thoughts?
363rdChemicalCompany
PS: I found a solution of sorts:Went into workshop mode and clicked each light as if I was going to move it.It turned bright again and hen I just unclicked it at the same spot. xrayy
weather changes can also "dim" the lights. so always check weather and time comparing light appearance.
363rdChemicalCompany
weather changes can also "dim" the lights. so always check weather and time comparing light appearance.I think I traced it down to NAC-X weather mod that dims things in is "default" night setting ( which is a mild darker nights" setting.) I am not looking for darker nights.Human beings can see quite well at night once the eye is adapted unless its a moonless night in the woods or the like. But FO4 landscapes are pretty open so I dont agree with a "darker nights" approach. Anyway I think that was the reason.
363rdChemicalCompany
Update: I was wrong. It is not due to NAC-X.But I read its a issue inherent to FO4. There is a mod out there that claims to fix this issue but it is to all encompassing I hesitate to install it.

There is a mod out there that claims to fix this issue but it is to all encompassing I hesitate to install it. There's a bug in the game code that can cause dim or even glaring light. Unfortunately, the problem is hardcoded.. Editing the mesh and calling Disable(), Enable() (or any similar Papyrus script-based tricks) are the current workarounds.
