Invalid Game Extension

I'm not sure what exactly I did to break vortex but all of a sudden after closing the game (Skyrim AE) and trying to reopen it. I get the below error message attached.

I updated Vortex this morning to the 1.8.5 version, and it turns out that the Skyrim SE game extension isn't invalid anymore, Vortex says it should have the required property "requiredFiles", here are the details of the error :

I am having the same error. Gives me an invalid game extension for Skyrim SE after updating to the latest version.

So, Vortex updated (or maybe extensions did) and asked me to restart. I can no longer find Skyrim SE, it doesn't even show up int he games list. Along with when I load up vortex, it says Skyrim SEs extension isn't loaded, ontop, Vortex calls the extension invalid. Tried going into Appdata and delete the Skyrim SE Plugin in its entirety from the plugin folder, but when I restarted Vortex, it re-downloaded the extension and ask me to restart Vortex, its more or less copying the bundled plugin fromt he Program Files folder for Vortex.. Assuming it might be fixed, but I assumed wrong. Still getting the same exact error and log dump as before. Plugin is invalid. Im not sure where to go from there outside of erasing everything related to vortex from my system and doing a full reinstall. Anyone else have any idears, none of this happened until an update was pushed lol.

Found a fix:
In:

change this section and add the requiredFiles: [], line

It's a hack, but it should work until the extension update is updated.

 

edit: don't forget to restart Vortex afterwards!
