Gotham Knights mods

Having issues getting the mods working for Gotham Knights. I've tried Vortex in the past and could not figure out how to use it and I'm trying again.

I've installed a Gotham Knights Vortex Extension when I was prompted while adding the game. V1.1.0 I have no idea if the version of this needs to correspond to my version of the game.

My Game is installed in the D: drive and originally the default staging folder was selected for C: so I updated the staging folder to be the same as the game dir. Also, the settings are set to Install when downloaded and deploy when installed. I did check the Mods folder in the game and even though the settings were set to deploy the mods folder was empty, so after reinstalling the mods and restarting Vortex the folder then updated to have files:

Having said that, the mods are deployed and they say enabled. I'm launching the game from the Vortex and not steam(not sure if this matters). And I don't see any in game MOD On/Off. So at this point not sure what I've done wrong or what to check.

Thanks in advance for any guidance

You might want to ask on the page for the extension https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/481

I made a discovery.

I decided to try and install manually since I can't get Vortex to work and I now see that the files that Vortex put in the Mods folder are all 0 bytes.

When I manually put the files from the unpacked mod in the mods folder I have gotten 1 mod to work. I guess I'll just have to do everything manual...

Those are symbolic links, this is because your staging folder is not on the same drive as the game. If the game doesn't support it you'll need to tell the extension developer to disable that option.

As far as fixing it goes, Settings -> Mods is where you need to look. Change the staging folder to the same drive as the game and change the deployment method to hard link.

I did update the staging folder as I said in my original post. However the Deployment Method was set to Symlink; which must be from default because I don't know what that means and I don't change things I don't know. I have now set that to hard link as you suggested and will try.

I'm not downloading Mods that the game doesn't support... I don't know why that's being mentioned. Obviously if the mod is not compatible with the game no amount of troubleshooting Vortex will make it work...
