Make sure you're definitely logged into the right account in Vortex.

You can also try:

1. Log out.

2. Close Vortex.

3. Open Vortex.

4. Log in.

Just tried it, hasn't worked either.

I've sent a support email, cuz none of this is helping if I'm honest.

Can you check that you're 100% logging into Vortex as bgman2001and that none of the Premium banners show at the top of the app once you have logged in?

At absolute most, you account status would refresh after 6 hours so it sounds like something is on the PC side.

I've checked your account and there's absolutely no reason on the website side why this wouldn't work.

Are you using any kind of weird networking setup (VPN/Proxy/etc)? It might be that something in your setup is preventing Vortex from getting the latest info about your account.

For you first question: I'm 100% logged in as bgman2001. I also don't have any premium banner show up during or before download, as well after the message pops up.

For your second question, no I'm not using any type of VPN or Proxy.

It's really infuriating, because it only started doing this after I subbed to premium.

I have a theory. See, I canceled my premium subscription, and during a download of a collection my premium expired and the message came up, where then I went to resub to premium and redownload the collection. It's been doing this ever since.

Hi again,

Thanks for the info, that's definitely an interesting use case we've not previously explored.

I've been talking to our Vortex team and if the banners don't show at the top of the app, then it should definitely not be showing you the "free" experience for collections.

To see what Vortex has stored about your account internally, can you follow these steps.

  1. Close Vortex
  2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex
  3. Hold shift and right-click in the blank space in the folder.
  4. Select Open PowerShell Window here.
  5. In the Powershell window that opens, copy or type the following command. "./vortex.exe --get persistent.nexus.userInfo".
  6. Let me know if you get persistent.nexus.userInfo.isPremium = true as shown below.

If you have Discord, you're welcome to ping me there and I'll go through it with you.

We're actively working on making the Vortex UI more responsive to users buying premium mid-download so hopefully this will solve the issue entirely once it is released.

We continued to troubleshooting on Discord.

A detail that was missing from the OP is that bgman2001 is downloading https://next.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/collections/rvxts8 and the normal, Premium flow continues for the first ~80% of the collection but then the last few mods start showing the free users journey.

I have asked them to reset their Vortex state and try downloading again.
