Skotte
the "red box with a !" means the mesh (.nif) wasn't placed in the right place in the "data" folder Maybe this will help http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=120735 Welcome to the Nexus
Oseve The Paladin
Hi, I too have this problem with the red boxes. I went through and extracted each .nif file (trying to get the Outlander bolter mod to work) for the boltgun. The game loads, but no matter what I do, I cannot seem to get rid of those darn boxes. It is becoming increasingly frustrating. :wallbash: Any advice? And before I am asked, No, I am not using FOMM or any other such programs.
Skotte
Oseve, do you have a link to that "Outlander bolter" mod so I can check it out? I can't seem to find it. Welcome to the Nexus

Wandik
sometimes, mods are not properly configured, and even if you install it correctly, it won't work... i'll try the mod next time i'll be able to play FO3
Skotte
@ Oseve,I downloaded "TheOutlanders_Boltguns_V3-5417.7z" & "TheOutlanders_Boltguns_V3_No_OA_required-5417.rar (as I don't have OA yet) When you extracted the "TheOutlanders_Boltguns_V3-5417.7z" you didn't extract straight to the "data" did you? Because that mod wasn't set-up to do that. while in the .7z file I opened the "TheOutlanders_BoltgunsV3" folder to get to the "Data" folder that held the "meshes", "textures" folders & "boltgun.esp" files to be brought over to fallout3's "Data" folder. After doing that I checked the bolters in Geck & in-game & there wasn't a redbox to be had. I only used the no OA version
Oseve The Paladin
I tried what you suggested, and from what I know, that should of worked. Wouldn't ya know it, those darn boxes are still there. i dragged each specific .nif file and whatnot into the corresponding file in the FO3 files, but do I just drop the files in one by one into textures, meshes, or do I have to create a specific filepath? There are two in there atm, 40k and a Boltgun that created temselves. Also, where does the boltgun.esp file go?
