error after re-installing skse

Hi there,

after some problems piled up and went somewhat chaotic and some mods

didn´t work either anyway I decided to wipe it via "remove related" and

removed every mod.

So I installed anew the mods I wanted, but the skse loader sends me the

the following error:

REL/Relokation.h(718) Failed to lokate an appropriate address library

with the path: Data/SKSE/Plugins/versionlib-1-5-97-0.bin ...

It´s the SE 1.5.97 I´m playing and I downloaded the 2.0.20 skse.

English isn´t my native tongue and I´m a computer-noob, so sorry in

advance for ... well ... basicly being me :-D

And thanks for your help

Many newer versions of SKSE-based mods rely on the address library ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/32444 ) to allow them to run on the different versions of Skyrim SE, both old and new.

You probably need the All In One (version 2) d/l, the second from the top under 'Main Files' - the first (v. 8 ) is for the v. 1.6+ SSE games.

That error isn't from SKSE itself. It's one of your SKSE mods complaining about a version mismatch.

You should check the SKSE logs to see if it indicates which mod is having the problem.

You have to make sure that your game version, your SKSE version, your Address Library version and your SKSE mods versions all match up correctly.

Thanks for your help!

I realised that I had to wipe Vortex and start from scratch. Again! But Hey! at least I unearthed some mistakes I made ...

So I stumbled across a guide - CBM-guide - and I guess it´s profound and reliable, seriously!

I checked every step I took, and then again to make sure I get it right ...

But I got to step 3 (for crying out loud!) until the next error hit.

I downloaded the dll plugin loader and followed the instructions closely:

1. Go to your Skyrim Special Edition root directory. This is the same folder where SkyrimSE.exe is, usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\"

2. Rename "binkw64.dll" to "binkw64_.dll" <- now there's a _ at the end.

3. Put the "binkw64.dll" from downloaded archive into the folder mentioned in step 1.

4. If you did it correctly you should have two files in your folder now: "binkw64.dll" and "binkw64_.dll", that's all, you can start the game now.

Edit: The SKSE and the Adress Library at least are right this time, I checked XDDD

Then I started the game (intended to) and the followin message appeared:

"Failed to load binkw64_.dll! Make sure the original file exists with an underscore at the end of name."

I do have the two afforementioned files in the right folder.

Thanks for your patience, if you could help me along any further I would be very grateful.

Just in case you don't know, the SKSE logs are in your ...\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE folder.

There is a modding.wiki that shows SKSE-based mod compatibility with all the versions of SSE ( https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins ).

Thanks!

Seems like I didn´t have to install the flaming thing in the first place.

But now I can´t get rid of it, I tried.
