Can't get mods to recognize in mod manager

Great resource here at Nexus. Good job guys.

I'm trying to install my first mods, but am running into an issue. I have downloaded and installed Mod manager and invalidate invalidated! Both seem to be working fine. The problem comes in when I try to unpack the moded files into the Fallout3 Data directory. I can put the files into Data no problem, but they aren't recognized as mods, because they are not a part of the Archive files the game is using.

The stock game configuration keeps all the files locked away in Bethesda File Archives. I can unpack the archives and add the needed files, but I cannot repack them in a way the game recognizes..

The tutorials on site say to drag the mod files to the data directory and say "yes to all." I don't get that question, because my file structure recognizes them as new files.

One of the tutorials did mention unpacking the Archive files and moving them to a temp folder, but then didn't say what to do after that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Trying to install Type 3 Body Mod, Type 3 V2 Textures, and Type 3 Raider Textures.

If the game finds a resource unpacked (that is, outside the bsa files), it will use that one (as long as stuff is in the right path), if not, it'll check the bsa files, if it's not there, it'll barf an error (normally purple for missing texture, giant exclamation mark for missing mesh).

Yep, you are ^_^.

If you have a mod, and the packed file structure is something like this:

[sumRandomModName]

|-[Data]

|-|-SumRandomMod.esp

|-|-[Meshes]

|-|-|-[Armor]

|-|-|-|-SumArmor.Nif

You want it to end up like this:

[Fallout]

|-[Data]

|-|-SumRandomMod.esp

|-|-[Meshes]

|-|-|-[Armor]

|-|-|-|-SumArmor.Nif

Note that things that don't have esp files won't show up in fomm (most 'replacers' don't need esp files, so Type 3 body is likely to have no esp file).

Find the folders like textures, meshes, sound.

This is the level that belongs into the Data-Folder of the Game.

For example in your screenshot of the Data folder there is a folder named "Type3 V2 TexturePack" open it once, open the next level and so on until you find a folder named textures ---> this belongs into the Data Dir of your game.

Look at the screenshot I've posted there you can see how it finally has to look like ---> look into the last 2 lines
