InDarkestNight
I really like the husky model for wolves. However, I play with Skytest, which let's just say doesn't have the best baby animal models (Etayorius admits he isn't a model-maker). I was thinking of using models from Real Wildlife to replace the bad ones from Skytest (keep in mind, I wasn't thinking of publishing this one, its purely for personal use). I even found a baby horker model once I tried to use, but for some mysterious reason I couldn't get it to work. Making a simple mesh replacer didn't work, nor did using an esp edit for some reason. Haven't had the same problem with other creature mods strangely. There is now way I could make my own model, or I happily would. Even drawing a straight line with a ruler has always been a challenge for me. If it wasn't for auto-correct, I honestly may not even be able to type (ironic given how verbose I tend to be). I was thinking though; if I can't make my own models, maybe I could just re-scale existing ones? Ignoring the issue that adult huskies don't look anything like husky puppies of course. How hard can re-scaling be? Do I even need to make a new mesh to do it? I've seen people rescale vanilla creatures with a simple esp edit, though I don't know how that's done either. On a side note, I was thinking of making my own mod that adds more creatures to Skytest. It fell on the back burner for years though due to me being unable to transfer the goose AI over to ducks for some reason (they were also completely silent unless the original mod I took them from was installed, and yes I copied the sound files into my mod, so there was absolutely no reason they wouldn't work). Lately I've been thinking its about time I pick up modding again. I was thinking of finally making that Skytest patch for AHO. Long ago I also thought about releasing mods that reverted skytest creatures to their vanilla stats (a common fix people apply if they're using mods that add in other creatures). I also thought about making a mod that disabled the baby animals. I would also still like to get that baby horker mod to work (the model came from a modder's resource, so I assume I can freely upload it as long as I credit the maker?) Either way, back on point. How could I simply rescale a vanilla model to make baby animals? I was mainly thinking of doing this for bears and sabrecats. May also do it for my 'more creatures for skytest mod'. Of course, most of skytest's models are fine. The baby goats, the mammoths, the geese people often mistake for ducks, the farm animals, blah blah blah. Its only really bears, sabrecats, and horkers that have bad models. There's already a fix for the horkers, though there is none for the other two for some reason. I would like to use the 'realistic bears' project, but that one has no model replacer for the mounted heads, and discrepancies like that irritate me to no end. How can I rescale a model and use it for a 'new' creature separate from the original?
Pickysaurus
If you're talking about literally making it 0.5x the size, there's an option for this in the Actor window. It's called "Scale" IIRC.
