Salmanius
I just recently got oblivion for PC, after playing it extensively on the Xbox 360. After playing mods on Fallout 3 and seeing the modding capability of Bethesda games, I was excited to mod Oblivion. After installing lots of mods that upgrade the game(texture packs/city upgrades/etc) i realized that my FPS wasn't the best, mainly (i suspect) because of all the NPCs and the high resolution textures. I had found a very nice utility on the fallout nexus forums, that allowed Fallout 3 to be allowed a lot more ram than it was currently given. It make Fallout 3 Large Address Aware. After searching the tesnexus site with no success i am turning to asking here. Does anyone know where this tool is, or how to tweak the FO3 version to work with oblivion. i suspect if the newer game by Bethesda doesn't allow it, the older game wont either. Heres the link to the FO3 version: LINK Would really appreciate it, and most likely other would too. Thanks in advance! :thanks:

apocalypse1138
I take it this will not work if we only have 1GB... :PAnswer is appreciated!
darkjaffar
You wouldn't see an increase on a 1 GB system, if you could even use it. You could possibly still allocate 3 GB for Oblivion on a 1 GB system if you wanted, but it would just make the extra memory virtual memory, which is on your slower hard drive. I'm not certain on that though as I have never tried it. Either that or it would crash the game/BSoD.
Hateful_kat
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23254 - 3GB RAM Enabler ;) I must say there are quite a few problems with using the 3gb switch in boot.iniYou can read some of the issues here:http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/.../06/209840.aspx
