Trouble getting Fook

HOWSE

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I thought I had FOOK 1.6 (from FOOKUNITY) downloaded, but when I try to install, it opens a blank window and stops responding. Also why does the header say notepad default when it's supposed to be a 7z file?

I'm running Vista 64 Ultimate.

When I tried to get Fook with a couple of download accelerators (free download manager, Download Accelerator Plus) they didn't Work and I just got the "Index.php" So don't use accelerators there.

I tried accelerators in the hope that they would have download resume because my my dialup can get flaky certain times of the day.

I'm using home premium Vista

ums, You should install it manually

It's not that hard, also if you wana keep most of the vannilla stuff

then don't opt for the vannilla retextures.

It kind of changes too much an you don't recognize fallout anymore

but using the main files an not using FOOK's retextures for vanilla items

is a good balance of the great old stuff with the great new stuff.

Just a thought...

Also I hear Vista users benifit the most from installing Fallout 3 outside of program files

Like C:/bethesda instead of C:/program files/bethesda

Something to do with security or something

outside of program files it's bypassed me tinks

But then I just heard, I use the last retail copy of XP on the planet. LOLZ

Ok, for starters, don't click on "open" when downloading it, click on save, save it to disk, wait until it's done THEN open it.

If your computer does not recognize the 7z file type, get 7zip, it's a program (like winzip or winrar), it is free, it's open source, AND it is able to compress stuff into smaller packages than the other two (which is why it rocks for sharing stuff over the net).
