Kerf Posted June 24, 2009 Share Posted June 24, 2009 For some reason whenever i take the sigil stone from the tower the gate wont close. i would just end up sitting at the top of the tower after taking the stone and it wouldn't port me out. anyone know whats going on? i dont think its my mods, but its possible so heres a list of what i have. cplirby Posted March 10, 2011 Share Posted March 10, 2011 I am having the exact same prolem. I also turned off all my mods but the problem is still there. Every time I take the sigil stone from the Kavatch Oblivion Gate it goes through all the fireworks but then just leaves me standing there. My quest marker still ponts to where the Sigil Stone should be and there is an activate icon still in my crosshairs. I can constantly take sigil stones that populate my inventory but invisible ones just keep placing them selves there. All my sigil stones are being randomely generated with different chants on them so I know it's just repopulating with a new sigil stone over and over again. I think the only real fix for this is to run the "setstage" command in the console but I can't figure out how to find the quest ID or what stage of the quest ID I am supposed to be moved to.Is there a list out there somewhere with all the Vanillia Oblivion quest ID's in them somewhere? I have entirely to many quests that won't get displayed in the tiny console window for me to be able to pick through and find the correct one becuase there is no way to pause what the console displays. Oh yeah, while I am talking about that. Is there a way to pause the display (Like in DOS how you can type /p at the end of a display command and only data that will fit in your screen will display and you can hit space bar or something to scroll through the next list of stuff)?. While still in Oblivion after taking the sigil stone open the console using the tilde (~) key and enter "CloseCurrentOblivionGate" (without the quotes). You will be transported back and the gate will close. If the next gate gives the same problem you may need to do some further troubleshooting, but this may jog things back to normal. Thanks for the help but I already tried that. I tried it while I was in the tower next to the Sigil ston, I then ran all the way back to the gate, targeted it and tried it again but still no response. I then stepped out of the oblivion gate into Kavatch and targeted the entrance portal. When I did that it re-teleported me back to oblivion but the gate back to Kavatch was gone. I then console teleported out of there and quick traveled back to Kavatch thinking it might have worked but the Kavatch gate was still there. I definately need a list of Oblivion quest stage codes so I can just run the setstage command. It's probably the only fix for this. Thanks for the help anyway. The other gate quests that have a wiki walkthrough are The Wayward Knight (the Cheydinhal Oblivion Gate), Bruma Gate, Great Gate (also at Bruma) and the two Daedric shrine quests for Boethia and Peryite. None of the random gates have quests attached ... there are map resources available on the wiki but I've never seen anything showing stages or similar. The CloseCurrentOblivionGate console command will only work while you are in the Oblivion plane ... to close one while outside in Tamriel use CloseOblivionGate after you click the gate with the console open to get a refID at the top of your screen for that particular gate. When you pick up the sigil stone do you get the "Sigil Stone has been added to your inventory" message? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
