Jojoblu
I've been playing with low level characters recently and so i rent rooms in taverns all the time, especially in the bannered mare, i have the populated cities mod and the tavern is full of people at night, which i enjoy because it feels like it's full of life, what is really annoying me is that when i rent a room, one or two npcs decide to break into my room while i'm trying to sleep or to eat, just to sit on the chairs of my room. I searched a lot to see if i could come up with a mod that could fix this, or at least a mod to lock the doors without using/getting spells, i also tried locking the doors with the "lock" console command, but the npcs are still able to open the doors. So could anyone make a mod that blocks npcs from using chairs and beds in rented rooms and if possible to also stop waiters from coming to your room to take your order when you sit on the chairs of said room? notmyhome
I don't know if it'll work as intended, but you could try using Open and Lock spells.
luffyboy
What if we did it this way.Create a mod that does to 2 things upon activation of a door under a specific condition (such as equipping a custom item like a lock in your hand)1. Place an invisible barrier (transparent mesh/textures) behind the door (the side you are not facing) that serves to block the npc from going through the door (and also opening it if possible)2. Place another invisible barrier on your side of the door that when activated allows you to "unlocks" the door by removing the two barriers created. cdcooley
The problem is that the navmesh allows them to walk around and the furniture has ownership properties that let them use it. So the game will randomly choose to let them use the furniture or even just stand next to your bed for no good reason. It doesn't matter if the doors are locked because the game will simply teleport them into your room as you're sleeping. The fix would be to put a big navcut box in the room so NPCs stay out, unfortunately for the Bannered Mare you'll need to also cover the balcony or people will get trapped there. NorthHare
Perseids Inns and Taverns - Realistic Room Rental Enhanced sets player ownership of the relevant furniture when a room is rented. That keeps NPCs out.
luffyboy
Hmm i guess one alternative to perseids (which is unfortunately no longer supported and have potential conflicts with other mods) would be to manually set each furniture in your room via console with the ignoredbysandbox flag.Do you guys reckon it would be possible to create a mod that will scan the room/cell you via casting a spell that would aid in toggling the ignoredbysandbox flag of all the furniture in the room? I was sort thinking bout copying existing chairs and benches withaduplicate with that wouldn't be accounted for sandbox but i guess your idea is far better lol. For example, the ones I use that has potential conflicts (3DNPC, ELFX and ETaC) has either a patch or a "No Inns" option, so that they won't touch the inns and leave that to Perseid's edits.
