lbAdl Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 So it looks like there is no way to do this?
HeyYou Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Correct. If you delete a part, you get back a bit of money, but, nowhere near the parts actual value. You might get some "ship parts" in your hold (for repairs) as well, but, not 100% sure on that.

When changing the ship, the part disappears. It is enough to make sure that the part remains when changing the ship, at least within the framework of this dialogue with the technician. That will be enough.
Meuhoua Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 (edited) Indeed, that would be could to spare parts between ships and so be able capturing others to dismantle parts and custom yours ; but also that should come with a rework of ship economy (something huge enough, at least a x5 to x10), actually thats a bit ridiculous that a bunch of armor and guns allow to buy/fully mod a spaceship. lbAdl Posted September 22, 2023 Author Posted September 22, 2023 it remains to find someone who implements it
sablemccloud Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 This would be wonderful... looking forward to someone taking the time to figure this out.
lbAdl Posted September 25, 2023 Author Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) I wrote to one moder in a personal account, with a question about the possibility, he is silent... although his made a lot of mods for the ship designer. Edited September 25, 2023 by lbAdl
lbAdl Posted September 27, 2023 Author Posted September 27, 2023 Moder answer:"You have no idea how complicated what you're asking for it. No. It's not going to happen. The mods I have change one single instruction here and there. What you want involves a huge mess of patches including entirely new code to track what's being removed and added elsewhere. There's an astronomical amount of reverse engineering and work needed for that." sadness...
Strokend Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Makes sense though. Rather than tweaking code that's there, something would probably need to be added to make the technician remember parts between ships. We can wait to see if anybody makes it work through the script extender, but it doesn't sound like something somebody working out of a set understanding would be able to accomplish.
HeyYou Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Once the modding tools are out, and in hand, someone will likely take this on. :D
