Xenobuzz
Hey all, So I finally beat feet over the church and, as luck would have it, not only did he fall out the hole in the wall, but the rifle fell away for easy pickin's! I've noticed that it only holds 3 rounds, which is 2 less than Lincoln's Repeater. However, LR has really been kick-ass for OSK's, so I'm leery of selling it to Hannibal. What does the Reservist Rifle do that Lincoln's Repeater doesn't? I really don't need the caps at this point because I'm pretty flush. I've been thinking of heading over the Fort that has the Power Armor since I'm lvl 21. Also, it doesn't seem like many scenarios in the game make you want for Frag mines or grenades. Should I still carry a few? I lug around 10 each right now. Dave S.
theLeeHarvey
About the Repeater, I'd take it over the Sniper Rifle any day. Even though it doesnt have a scope, it seems to be more accurate in free-aim mode. The Reservists rifle is basically a more powerful sniper rifle. If you must use a scoped weapon, I recommend the Victory rifle as it has a nice bonus of knocking your target down when you hit them, but it still seems to be less accurate than the Repeater. As for grenades, I carry ten of each as well and while most often they are not a necessity, they can be handy to have for killing something behind an obstacle if you don't want to rush around it and take damage. gsmanners
Lincoln's Repeater: Pros: A solid, moderately powerful weapon, suitable for most enemies. Cons: It belongs in the hands of someone who can take care of it. I always sell it to Hannibal or Abe. Reservist's Rifle: Pros: A very powerful weapon, able to handle just about anything with one shot. Cons: Generally considered to be overpowered. Frags: Pros: A highly common weapon, suitable for short-to-medium range combat with multiple foes. Cons: Not really suitable for all enemies. Grenades work best against slow-moving foes who clump together, and mines work best against creatures that crawl along the ground.
ZeonicGlory
You should also keep ammo in mind. I tend to have more .308 ammo than I do .44. I'd personally recommend the Repeater for the accuracy, as I've seen bullets leave Sniper Rifles at something like a 45 degree angle... I usually carry just 2 frag grenades, which is enough to deal with most enemies that need a grenade and I can always find more in boxes and whatnot. I've stopped carrying frag mines, since I really had no use for them. If you really need a good way to deal with a fast melee opponent, I'd recommend using the Dart Gun. JumpDin
I found the Lincoln's Repeater a bit stronger. I always carry a sniper rifle, the repeater and the unique Plasma Rifle you get from a quest (forgot the title of that gun)
evilneko
Hah, you think YOU need to lighten your load. I currently carry the alien blaster, a mod-added laser SMG, a mod-added laser sniper, a mod-buffed laser rifle, grenade launcher (with 3 types of ammo corresponding to the grenade types), and sometimes, Vengeance and maybe a nuka 'nade or two. (AND I use them all, depending on the situation! When I used to play Diablo, we had this variant called CAT, Combat Adaptive Tactics... I play very much that way in Fallout! Cept.. without the melee :P) Though, personally, if I had your guns, and wanted to drop one, I'd ditch the vanilla sniper if you haven't already. As for choosing between the Reservist's and Lincoln's... I'd probably go with whichever one I could reliably keep ammo stocked for.
JumpDin
I bring more than that. What I've listed down was only part of it..
C6Aviation
I bring more than that. What I've listed down was only part of it.. I'd get rid of the other two. For me, accuracy = hitting power > everything else. Besides, you don't need as much ammo if you are getting headshot sneak crits all the time :). You won't waste any bullets peppering the scenery that way. You also look flat awesome with Lincoln's Repeater, a shady hat, Simms' duster and Three Dog's shades. Personally, I've never found frag anything useful. I usually loot them all, then sell them or trade them for mininukes from Flak 'n Shrapnel. Or stimpaks. Enemies usually dodge my 'nades....I have been meaning to explode a super mutie's pants tho, never done that. Wanna give it a try. Might find a use for those 'nades after all. I also suggest adding the mod "Personal Terminal". In that mod is a portable variant, which will grant you a portable container to store your excess gear in, one which has no weight penalty. I love it, I probably have 1200 pounds worth of loot and power armor in there that I rarely use.

I never use 95% of what's in there, much of it being conventional weapons and extra armors or clothes (regulator duster, combat armor, nekogi suit, etc) to occasionally pull out for aesthetics. I usually just store loot to be sold, but sometimes I'll store cool weapons(Like the heavy-hitting M2 Browning in the 20th Cent mod) that I rarely use in there as well.
