Recommendation:

Get FO4Edit and learn "The Method".

Trust me, modding your game can quickly spiral out of control.

"The Method" will keep you grounded so you don't do something silly like add 100 mods to your game all at once and wonder why things aren't working because you have no earthly idea what a conflict even looks like.

That said you will still come across issues from time to time, but at least you will be educated to have an idea what might be causing those issues.

Thanks for suggestion! I think I know what kind of mods I want and I do not plan install a hundreds of them. But i will check "The Method"

be aware of traps you can step in. i recommend to test every single mod if it works flawlessly! if you decide to pass on that you will remember later what i said.

be also aware of fo4 previs/precombine optimization and the connection to scrap mods. if you ignore this your fun with modding, stability and performance will not last long in this game.

google this stuff and use a mod manager, vortex or mo2. many tutorials exist to explain the basics.

To each their own.

Like I said, it can quickly spiral out of control.

To the point where a mod user is spending 5x or more time modding their game and debugging/testing how all those mods work than actually playing the game.

Problem is, without structure they aren't even doing the former - they are crying wolf - because they can't play the game even if they wanted to.

With some structure, they will spend less time and get educated at the same time.

You have to have a certain kind of mindset to keep beating your head against a brick wall and continue to ask for people to solve your problems they have no earthy ldea where the origins of the problem lies.

To me the biggest issue isn't diagnosing problems between mods, it's deciding on what mods I actually want.

Combine the two (no structure and a ton of mods) and it's a disaster waiting to happen.
