New to Vortex - can you answer a couple questions?

To start I haven't worked with mods in several years, I used to play with mods for Skyrim & Fallout4.

The tool I used then was Nexus Mod Manager - I think I remember Vortex just coming out, but I never used it.

I had some setup issues on my desktop as the Starfield game was missing, so I want to give a BIG thank you to "showler" for their assistance in linking me to the extension and making the game available to manage.

I still don't understand why it was available on my laptop but not my desktop when I used the same installer but...

Now to my current question:

I have the extension working and am able to launch the game from the launcher just above the 'Dashboard' tab.

I have Starfield Scrip Extender installed and am able to launch the game by clicking on the SFSE icon on the Dashboard.

I have ONE mod installed - a texture mod to change Andreja's outfit.

When I installed it, I was required to give UAC permissions.

- will I have to do this for every mod, the laptop didn't require it...

but -

When I get into the game the mod is NOT taking effect.

I've checked the folder: '\steamapps\common\Starfield\mods'

but there is nothing there.

I do find it in the Vortex Mods staging folder - so that is correct (right)?

Is there something else I need to do for the mods to work in Starfield using Vortex?

**Note: I forgot to mention I do have vcruntime140_1.dll in my install folder so I can continue to get achievements

It's very likely that you have files at Documents\My Games\Starfield\Data which break your texture loading. Alternatively you need to move your mod staging folder to the same drive as the game and update your deployment method to hardlinks (both in the settings menu).

I do apologize for not mentioning that I had done that already.

I found those solutions when I had researched about this before I posted...

I attached a quick ss of how I have the settings.

Oh, I have also made the custom StarfieldCustom.ini file with:
