A few beginner CS questions

Adding masters and item requirements (for NPCs) from other mods to a esp

So I can't seem to get it to stick, I have not been successful with the CS and when I add them with xEdit they are removed as soon as I load the esp file in the CS, also when I use armor from another mod on a NPC when I load it into xEdit, with requirements also loaded it say sit can not find the gear and if I save it the references to the modded items are removed.

New to modding been having fun and have already learned a lot but I assume a lot of my errors are simple things that others know easily and I'm wasting time with simple issues. I have so many questions...

You need the Construction set extender to make a plugin dependent of another plugin. Before loading them go in Files in the top-left -> Save options and make sure the Save loaded ESPs as masters option is ticked.

I suppose you mean TES4Edit when you mention xEdit.

Wow thank you very much, yes I have the extender installed and yes TES4edit indeed, I am going to set that setting in the CS right now... hmm I must not have the CSE installed correctly because I do not have the "Save options" in the drop down menu

Data

Save

Tools

Export

Import

Preferences (not located here)

Exit

Going to re install the CSE hope that helps

Hi Starbound,  i know this can be considered as Necroed. but i'm using TESConstruction Set Externder and i can't find where the "Files in the top-left -> Save options and make sure the Save loaded ESPs as masters option is ticked" is. I'm playing modded Oblivion and modding Oblivion through MO2.

My memory is vague on this, but I think you have to make the change in the Construction Set Extender.ini file (since the CSE won't save any settings changes you make to the ini file)  (in Data\OBSE\Plugins )

[BGSEE::Plugins]
PreventTimeStampChanges=1
SaveLoadedESPsAsMasters=1      <---- THIS ONE!!!!
