Guest deleted34304850
is the wrong answer. lets just suppose that i'm your average low-iq user of this site. i run windows 7 because i have a tinfoil hat.my password is cunningly set to AAAAAAAA because no-one is going to scare me. i use the same hotmail account for everything. but let's just say that my combination of my hotmail account and my password is hacked on icantgetagirlfriendsoiwatchporninstead.com.that combo of userid/password is published. now, someone gets that data and basically brute forces that email/password combo on every website in existence. oh no, my netflix has been hacked! how?oh no, my gmail has been hacked! how?oh no, my <insert website of your choice including your bank> has been hacked! how? because you're a divvy who doesn't take security of your systems seriously, which is why cybercrime is a billion dollar industry. anyway, you crack on. you know best. right? If you use the same password for every site under the sun, you get what you deserve. And no, I am simply NOT concerned about 'security' of my account on a GAMING website. After all, this is the ONLY site that requires 12 characters for a password.... so, this password is most certainly unique. Why anyone would bother trying to hack it is a mystery to me. There is literally nothing to be gained. awesome response. really shows how utterly ignorant you are. well played. Or maybe how paranoid you are? no, i think its definitey a YOU problem - hence the fact that cybercrime is a multi-billion dollar industry. you're not alone in your ignorance and complacency. plus, it keeps me gainfully employed, so, thank you, i guess? Yeah. Uh huh. The password to a gaming site is oh-so-important...... You are apparently not familiar with the term "Acceptable Risk". You wanna live your life like everyone and everything is out to screw you, that's YOUR problem. Not mine. I choose to take a bit more relaxed outlook. TheVampireDante
-and once again a topic has descended into two people arguing in circles. Closed. Of note, there's been cases of new signup spam accounts actually being premium, so they have shelled out the money to cover that, which means there is definitely value to be found in accounts here if spammers go so far as to shell out on numerous accounts in order to attempt gaining access to others on the Nexusmods platform.
