Prometheus0314
Hello I booted up Vortex today and was greeted with a prompt to create a junction folder to bypass the mods being in 2 seperate folders thing that starfield does. Upon clicking the prompt to confirm the action, Vortex crashed and I recieved the following error message :the "path" argument must be of type string. received undefinedcode: ERR_INVALID_ARG_TYPEpaths.0: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield\Datapaths.1: undefinedTypeError: the "path" argument must be of type string. recieved undefinedat __node_internal_captureLargerStackTrace (node:internal/errors:490:5)at new NodeError (node:internal/errors:399:5)at validateString (node:internal/validators:163:11)at join (node:path:429:7)at path.join (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js:9778:122)at mergeFolderContents (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\plugins\VortexExtension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js:1096:80)at async createJunction (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\plugins\VortexExtension Update - Starfield Vortex Extension v0.4.4\index.js:1121:9) i have a basic understanding of java and programming, but this beyond my abilities to reliably interpret, and quite frankly I dont trust myself not to make things worse if I were to try and remedy it myself.was hoping I would find, if not a solution, a temporary workaround, or at least gain some understanding of what specifically is going wrong, as vortex was working fine as of 24 hours ago.I'll just ingore the prompt and not touch anything for now and hopefully things wont explode. This is my first time actually posting on any sort of major modding forum, so I apologize if this has been answered already or if I am breaking some manner of decorum. Thank you for taking the time to listen.
PoppinMastro
Exact same issue here, working fine 24 hours ago.
Pickysaurus
Sounds like your "My Documents" folder is badly configured so Vortex couldn't find it.
SuperDuperRon
Howdy, I was having the same issue but i eventually got it to work. Long story short, if you have mods in the My Docs Data folder, get them out of there. Vortex then did it's thing no problem.

SuperDuperRon
I'm not 100% sure, personally i would uninstall the mods > let vortex create the junction folder > then see if you can reinstall the mods through vortex. Then if it doesn't work try and install them the other way. I would imagine that part of what Vortex is trying to do is fix it so you don't have to install out side of it. Hope it goes smoothly for ya!
