Coolbeans66
I recently purchased FNV and i'm wondering whether I should first play the game vanilla or using modsIf I should use mods what would be some few key ones that would enhance a few things that the vanilla game missed out on.Also would installing mods be best used by the NMM or should they be installed manuallyFinally I noticed that there is a FNV script extender. Since it was critical to use the Skyrim Script Extender to run most Skyrim mods would I need to install the FNV script extender to get the best mods. Thanks! JimboUK
I would play vanilla first to experience the game as the devs intended, that said you'll want this to reduce crashing http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35262/? and this version of NVSE for future mods http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zip
LordCaptainCommander
I would suggest at least starting a vanilla game, but don't feel obligated to finish the vanilla game first. You'll know relative soon what you like and don't like, me personally, I knew pretty early on I wanted the game to be more difficult, so I installed project nevada to tweak some settings, find out the things you want to change and then look for the mods that change it. Roachbait
Gopher has some very good advice for modding: http://www.youtube.com/user/GophersVids He goes all through the proper ways to deal with mods... ...and Yeah, NVSE is pretty crucial with FNV mods...a lot of them won't even work without it...
