No avatars or faces shown in avatar of friends to remind me

I feel as though all the avatars with faces and some who designed a pix of them self was the reason I returned day after day.  Not the games they played, but the people they were.  Try as I might I cannot find any delight now that they do not show up in my profile.  Even though they no longer posted, or had anymore to write to me.

Now I am sure, there was someone who might have been a dear friend.   But their pix gone, leaves me feeling void and detached from here as well.

Ah!  I have discovered where to look to see the people I had in my friends list.

I can see the groups of people who have joined a game's group! 

The ones who are listed which used to be in my friends list who continue to mod, discuss the game, can become members of the different games groups!  Nice!
