This is the third slow system I have seen in the last 24 hours - all were 64 bit.

I'm looking for a common factor.

Could you give me some more info.

Is this on a laptop or desk computer?

What version of Oblivion?

Do you have Shivering Isles or any DLCs installed?

What mods? a load order would be helpful.

Do you use OBSE or OBMM?

Is your audio a separate board or built in?

What else have you done to try to find the problem?

1G ram is a little low for 64 bit. Kind of like getting a car with a V8 then taking 4 spark plugs out and wondering why it's so sluggish. If you can, upgrade to at least 2G, 4 or more would be much better. Most 64 bit motherboards can handle at least 8Gig of Ram.

That onboard video is actually the BIG bottleneck in your system. My advice is you going for something like 9600 gt or better video card.

A somewhat new feature the newer mother boards brings is using a hybrid method that allows cutting down the energy for the hungry 3D discrete videocards (using the onboard one in the meanwhile) while the demand is low. Not sure if your MoBo allows it though.
