Network is offline / Can't login to Vortex

Hello,

Vortex hasn't really worked for me in the last year or so. A little over a year ago Vortex gave me a setKey error, eliminating my ability to sign in. I was unable to find any solutions on internet forums or posts that were consistent with my problem. At the time I just resided to manual mods.

I upgraded my OS to Windows 11 and started clean installed on a new SSD about exactly a year ago, and as with my other applications downloaded Vortex again.

This time, however, Vortex now simply says "Network is offline", with no option or ability to sign in. The Vortex tutorial videos work on the client, so I know it has internet access, I just can't download from Nexus Mods or link my account via the manager. It's been like this for close to a year now, as that's around when I upgraded to Win 11. I essentially haven't had a working Vortex in over a year.

Things I've tried:

  • Turning off anti-virus
  • Allowing Vortex in anti-virus
  • Uninstalling anti-virus
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled Vortex
  • Used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall Vortex and wipe left over registry keys, then reinstalled
  • Create Inbound and Outbound FireWall rules for Vortex

Nothing seems to work. Oddly, on my laptop Vortex does work, just fine. My laptop has the same anti-virus / adblocker apps / extensions, and is on the same network. I'm at an absolute loss, and desperate for any help I can get at this point.

Some specs / versions:

  • Windows 11
  • AVG Anti-Virus
  • Ublock Origin
  • Latest version of Vortex and previous versions

I've also attached a screenshot of my options in Vortex on the top right of the client, where you can see the Wi-Fi symbol is crossed out.

Thank you in advance for any help offered!

That icon exclusively appears when Vortex can't "see" any active internet connection on your PC. This means that something on your PC (probably AVG) is preventing Vortex from accessing the internet at all.

I'll try and fully uninstall AVG tonight and see if that fixes things. Disabling it made no difference.

Thank you for the feedback, I'll report back on this one.
