I've actually had the same problem with a couple of other games but re-installing them always fixed it. After trying a re-install Skyrim five times I still get the same result. It didn't do this until the update. The second update wouldn't even launch through Steam (the game launched and played fine). It's really just a minor annoyance, I just have to remember to close it out through task manager. Truth told I'm just happy to have it running again. !!!
