Auslander66 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I am trying to make changes to the XENH race, and it's been a bit of a nightmare. First of all, the original XENH file is an esp. What I did was to make it a master, and from there, create a new esp to add hairstyles and eye colors. That worked out fine. A little later on, I decided to add Kaw's pointed teeth to the mix, and I got that to work as well. Just recently, I noticed that the custom teeth had disappeared. I checked in the GECK, under Face Data, and all of the assets were pathed to the same folders. Nothing had changed. I also checked the details of my original XENH file, and the one I made to add hairs to it, and both reported that my female character should be using pointed teeth. I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out what went wrong. If anyone has any ideas on what might have happened, I would truly appreciate the help. Thank you.
prensa Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Auslander66 - Hello!Only thing I can think of, if it was working fine before but stopped working now, is that another plugin is overriding your new .esp with the changes.Did you make a Merged Patch with FO3Edit? If so that may have taken the changes from the original instead of your cahanges.Run FO3Edit & find your .esp, expand it's details & left click on the changes to the teeth so that the details come up on the right. On the right will be columns for every plugin making changes to the XENH Race, there should be the one you made an .esm & another column for your custom .esp.If any other column comes after your .esp (like a Merged Patch for example) that will override your changes. If it's a merged patch you can delete the changes that contradict your .esp so that your .esp has the last word & the teeth show up.Just remember to remove that bit whenever you make a new Merged Patch. The only other thing would be to make sure the actual teeth files are still placed in you Fallout 3 folder correctlyHope this helps!Prensa

I'm amazed that I completely forgot about merged patches. Thank you very much for the suggestion, and will try this, now. =) Edit:OMG, Prensa, you're a genius! You were totally right. It turns out that I had forgotten I linked one of my NPC characters to this race, and she was still set to use normal teeth. When I fixed her esp, the fangs came back. I can't thank you enough, and I wish I could give you another kudos for this. XD Edited January 22, 2014 by Auslander66
