I had the same problem. I fixed it by installing High FPS Physics Fixhttps://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44798 . After I unlocked the frame rate, it was set to 60 fps, the load times now are a fraction of what they were. Minutes to seconds.

This comment interested me, so I tried the linked mod. I kept crashing in the Pip-Body perks screen if I scrolled through my list of dozens of perks too quickly. I also often crashed when going into the perk selection screen.

After several crashes (at least ten), I uninstalled the mod and read the mod description more carefully. There I noted the mod has an ini file, so I reinstalled the mod and edited the ini mod to limit the Pip-Boy frame rate to 60 (instead of unlimited). I use an Nvidia 3080 graphics card at all-ultra 4k resolution.

Then I tested the Pip-boy screens again. This time I didn't crash when scrolling through my list of perks at full speed, but I did crash when looking at my Perk Selection screen.

I suspect this mod is not compatible with the Baka Full Screen Pip-Boy mod which gives a transparent Pip-Boy and lets you see the outside world while you're looking at your Pip-Boy.

As far as I can tell the mod you linked works as advertised, but for my game (possibly because I use a transparent, full screen Pip-Boy) it kills my game stability.

Thanks for the link, though. It was both interesting and, I suspect, viable for most mod builds.

I have something simpler to try. When I played FO4 on an older machine, I would run into odd instabilities and long load times the more I progressed in the game.

It was a memory/storage problem.

FO4 crams a lot into the save game files. The more you progress, the more you move items, build, stack up dead bodies, etc., the bigger and more cumbersome the save game files become and FO4 creates a new file every time you do anything it seems.

So, I started deleting old saves when I saved a game. Call up the save menu, delete 10 old saves, save new. Repeat until you have like five or six savegames.

Worked wonders for stability and loads.
