draytalon
Ok I am having a small headache with this. I set up a caravan route from Sanctuary to Red Rocket Truck Stop, then another from RRTS to Starlight. Same for Abernathy to RRTS. So opening up other settlements and building, I set up a caravan route for this new settlement. Now all seems fine till I open up my pipboy again later in the game only to find I am having rogue caravan routes, like I have one from Taffington to Sanctuary, yet I never set one from Taffington. Yes it is built and I did assign an npc to caravan route to Covenant, but not sanctuary. I get others that randomly appear as new routes. So I downloaded IDEKS, totally confused on how that works, but at least I can clear the routes and start all over again till random routes appear again, rinse and repeat. Is this something that the vanilla game does, or SS2 which I also use. Is there away to stop the rogue routes from happening???
Karna5
Hi, draytalon. I've had well over 50 play throughs (10.2 thousand in-game hours in Fallout 4), and I've never had that issue. I don' tknow what IDEKS or SS2 or any of that stuff is, so you probably have mods I do not. While I have hundreds of mods, I don't have any that touch caravans. FYI, I also use the Rename Anything mod to rename my provisioners so I can keep track of who they are when I run into them in the road. For instance, if I have a settler named Trouble from Red Rocket, I rename him to "Trouble Rocket" so I know on sight from whence he comes. Making settlements is one of the things I most enjoy, so each play through ends up with most of the commonwealth (and then some) connected by caravans. But I've never ever had a caravan start itself. Ondrea
The vanilla game doesn't do this. If you have caravan plots built through SS2, settlers will automatically assign to that and create a route. It's been awhile since I've used SS2, so I'd check out their forums for more details. There should be a setting in the SS2 holotape to disable automatic routes if you want to do it yourself.
