MightyMonte88
Hey ya'll, I'm downloading the vault boy 101 total overhaul collection on my laptop, my plan is to transfer it to my new gaming rig at home. My internet at home is really bad and i wouldn't be able to download the collection at home, and to move my new gaming PC i'd have to remove the cpu cooler and GPU, i didnt want to take the PC apart unless i really have to. As long as i transfer the download / staging folders from my laptop - to my desktop, i should be ok right? I have fallout 4 through steam, so transferring the games files itself isn't an issue, its vortex im worried about x.x , any advice would be greatly appriciated. I made a most about this in the general modding forum but only got one reply, so i figured i'd check with the fallout 4 community incase what im trying is a doomed effort. When you have your new PC and set up Fallout 4 in it, then install the mod manager for that PC, and you should be able to import the raw un-extracted archives into that new PC's mod manager. From there you can install the mods into your new PC's game. This said, that's how it would be done if you were individually installing mods. I've never used collections (and never will), so if it's different for collections maybe somebody else can tell you if anything is different

363rdChemicalCompany
That what I did. At my house location manuall downloaded all my favorite mods (all 200+ of them) with my fast internet and put them unextracted on a thumbdrive . Then on the new computer (in this case laptop) installed them via vortex by normal "install from file " process. Except Luxors HD pack where i manually overwrote the games texture fiels with it. It worked, but since order matter my new install is not as bug free as on my desktop, i was not able to replicate the load order 100%. Even so its quite playable.
fraquar
Every time I see these things involving Vortex I just shake my head and wonder why people don't just use Mod Organizer 2. It makes life so much simpler for these kind of migrations.
