Sort of, if it's anything like the Auto Idle feature in EFF (another multiple followers/follower control mod, which I use instead of AFT). Basically, if you sit or stand around somewhere a bit, your follower(s) will wander a short distance and try to interact with nearby chairs, alchemy/enchanting tables, invisible NPC idle markers (to lean against a post or wall or railing), etc. Myself, I turn usually it off, since EFF also has a Relax command I can give my followers, either individually or as a group. Also, since we're on the subject of tweaks for followers, do AFT and EFF have a setting that lets followers follow the main character over rough terrain without them getting lost and having to go a long way around to get to your character? I've had to be careful with where I move instead, like hugging a wall so my followers' path naturally avoids a trap. Or tell them to stay put until I can disarm the trap.
