363rdChemicalCompany
Preferably free. In previous years past I had used iWisoftconverter, a lot. but now on this new laptop after downloading it , it wont let me use it unless you "update" it and their update server is down boht times I tried in recent weeks. Odd. So looking nothing fancy preferably free but i am willing to pay as long as its a one time and not subscription based with a reputable Outfit that won't abuse my card number once I submit it. Guest deleted156886133
Do you want software that only crops video or a full-fledged video editor? If you want the latter, then give Openshot a try. It's free, stable, creates quality videos and is available for Windows, Linux, Apple or Chrome OSs. If you're on Linux, the download file is an .appimage, so no need to install. Just download, make executable and run. Edited May 1 by UsernameWithA9

Guest deleted156886133
You're welcome but look into the features before you decide first. I did that after I replied and really couldn't determine if it performs the function you were shooting for, cropping of videos. It's a solid piece of software though. I've tinkered around with mine a bit by merging several short videos into one. No complaints.

All I am lookign for is the ability to crop the video smaller (for display to hide something in the corner) and also make them emailabnle by cutting alarger video into different small parts. I know there are a bunch of online ones but they simply wont work due to internet speed limitations. The videos I am talking about are about 400-800 Megs . My preferred solution is a app that is on my hardrive so I can take advantage of my fast SSDs , CPU and RAM when doing a few of those. Yes I have great hardware but low skill level
363rdChemicalCompany
PS: iWisoft Free Video Converter is what I had been using for years. Its very limited but was super easy to use for the only 2 things I needed; the video in portions at specific points and crop the view

On a positive note iWisoft vid converter started working again on one of my computers
zixi
Except it's annoying to pay for something that doesn't do what you want! 1 hour ago, 363rdChemicalCompany said: On a positive note iWisoft vid converter started working again on one of my computers Good!
