Rubberduck69
Hi folks, i played F3, F4 and NV thousands of hours. Modded to the max which had my pc smoking. Sometimes not very stable but i was satisfied. But that is years ago and now i wanna start over again. There are simpy no decent games out there which have such an atmosphere. And that's the problem. I have to build up a New Vegas install from scratch and simply dont remember how to do it right. Starting with which mod manager to use. NMM or Vortex? And i need a VERY detailed guide how to prepare NV and (at best) a guide which mods to use. Any of your help and patience is greatly appreciated! Both have Nexus integration, profiles, and easy-ish ways to swap mods in and out of your game. (Been using Mod Organizer in some form with my Elder Scrolls and Fallout games for a decade at least, now, and have never used NMM or Vortex.) Rubberduck69
That sounds good. And somewhat suprising cause i never had Mod Organizer 2 on my radar....
wfandrews
I do not know if this would be relevant but both Viva New Vegas and TTW's installation guides are predicated on MO2.

Ophiucus68
I recently installed FONV for the first time and used viva new vegas as a rough guide. Rough guide - for instance, do not install the tickker mod that eliminates stutters. It's unstable. Do turn off autosaves for fast travel - that will save a few CTDs. Personally, I use vortex. I found it more user friendly and reliable with FO4 and have had no problems with it for FONV.

Unstable seems a bit harsh, maybe there were other factors at play?

Found out many many users had the same problem even with updating the ini file. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34832?tab=posts
