Vortex constantly asking for elevated control, even though I'm the administrator.

I literally can't do ANYTHING on vortex without it asking for elevated control, even though I'm the admin on my system. It then fails to recognize that I gave it control, and asks again. And again, and again. I can't delete a profile, I can't stop managing a game, I can't manage a new game, I can't install any mods. Occasionally it will stop and give me an error that says

"Symlinks on your system can only be created by an elevated process and your system just refused/failed to run the process elevated with no error message. Please check your system access setting regarding User Access Control or use a different deployment method."

It doesn't matter what I'm trying to do, the error message is always the same.

I used to use vortex a lot a couple years ago, and had no issues. Now, it's completely unusable.

Vortex Version: Stable 1.10.8

Game I'm modding: Palworld on Steam. Or at least I'd like to. But at this point, I'd settle for Vortex not asking for control every 10 seconds.

Your mod staging folder is probably on a different HDD to the game so you're deploying via Symlinks. This requires elevation due to how Windows works.

You have two options:

1. Move your staging folder to the same drive as the game in Settings -> Mods. Then change the deployment type to Hardlinks (recommended).

2. In Settings -> Workarounds there's a way to use Symlinks without the prompt
