[1.1][1] GaiaArkdom0314, While Preparing For The First Testing Mission

It was odd to know that just because the great, underground, ecofriendly sanctuary was numbered 314 that there was nowhere near that number of such places. The number was chosen just to signify that particular GaiaArkdom and there was always a '0' in front of the three other numbers that never started with '0'. This was done for security intelligence reasons.

Sharry made her way through the Gaiaseekerbase that was fairly cramped but also as 'friendly' as possible. There were greenbevines growing vertical up small, shallow, waterfall features. Big 3Dphotos showed views of BDD, Before Doomsday, of the few natural areas that were surviving at the very end of the 122nd Century AAA, After Ancient Ascension. Biovats grew food, herbs, spices but also ever flowers that could continue to flourish in water filled bowls as long as given certain ingredients.

She stepped into the 'chamber' where the solidication projectionation booths were situated. The other SQuins were there though in truth they were clonesisters born from the same surrogate mother who they gained some genetic material from so as to make them 'semiclones'. With them were other Gaiaseekers who were also other Seekaplayers of the Doomsgames. They were a mixture of other powers enhanced humans, or penhumans, androids, pennamals as in powers enhanced animals, robots and elementals. Seekapanions, Seekaplayer Companions, could also go with them.

The Gaiaregainers had been presented with a deal by the 'Gamegods' that they were in no position to refuse. To give them due credit, the Gamegods had already sent forth the first assistance allocations to the various GaiaArkdoms being designed to meet different needs.

Sharry sighed. "First SPB Testing Mission will start very soon. First up is myself as one of the SQuins, Gavag as Mirrorboy, Junglejane the android, Trieyebot the robot and Airius the elemental. Destination is UCA, United Commonwealths Army, Bunker #234. Starting Quest Mission is simply to reconnoiter and assess the bunker for possible potential change into a Gaiaseeker Outpost. Or so went the words of the mission statement from the Gaialords."

A flash of yellow-white energies went through everybody and everything.

When the Seekaplayers became fully aware, again, it was no surprise that the SQuins were the first to do so. The GaiaArkdom was bigger, in many ways more capable, and so was the Gaiaseekerbase. The Seekaplayers found that as part of that was a Timespace Alternates Spacetime Transportation, or TAST being in this case the SeekaTAST. It would be, in future, a regulated use operations base for both the Seekaplayers and the Gaiaseekers.

Shenny spoke her anger. "The SPB Mission was designed to fail, to kill those who first used it. The Gamegods intervened and those responsible, the Gaialords of the Hard Isolationist Faction, have been taken. The GaiaLadyLords Soft Isolation Faction have taken charge of government in all GaiaArkdoms."

Shimmy took over with a calmer voice. "We have a new Gamesponsor Faction who provided us with the SeekaTAST and its current contents, most of which is familiar to us but some of which could only be said to be 'exotic'."

Shotty spoke. "I would suggest that we go into the SeekaTAST but we are already there as is part of the older Gaiaseekerbase."

Shully snorted softly. "Then I take it that we need to start again with our preplanning of the first mission."

[1.2][2] GaiaArkdom0314, While Preparing For The First Testing Mission

They wore tight fitting, shape conforming, gamesuits except for the elementals; even the multimodular robots had their versions of it.

The penhumans, pennamals, androids, robots and elementals moved as quickly as they could through the ever changing 3Dmaze.  K9herois staid close to Shimmy as a pennamal being wisely heroic as she put it. While under her protection, the wolfdog managed to 'psychic sniff out' potential traps. Stationary turrets were most common, in the Turret Maze but then there were large minorities of rail, pop-surprise and camouflaged ones.

Sharry destroyed a pop-down turret, before it could blaze away with its own pulseguns, using her own, oversized, battlepistol.

Batmanbot, like some elegantly late 19th Century personal man servant, blew apart a big grassy camo turret hidden amongst thick grass, of course. He was being protective of his floating companion See3pio whose special abilities were as yet to become apparent. His large revolver was in truth an elegantly appearing battlepistol.

Shenny blew away a fast moving rail turret that managed to shoot at See3pio but not at the real one. Two, electronically effective, decoys had flickered into existence and See3pio's name was explained as was at least one of his special abilities.

A roller coaster turret came fast, moving swiftly up and then down again, but Junglejane took care of it with her powerbow and a power-arrow.

A zigzag flying turret made a move against the Seekaplayers at the same time as did two normal seeming stationary turrets except one, of the latter, was a holographic projection of a fake; See3pio was not the only one who could play such games. Shimmy put an end to both actual turrets.

They reached the end of that turret maze and the session was over.

Most of the Seekaplayers had not taken a direct role in dealing with the turrets threat but at such an early stage that was no surprise or was there anything wrong with it happening that way.

Sharry spoke from the briefing-debriefing podium being now in a general purpose utilitysuit. "We managed a good, general, score against low level threats while starting to adjust to the turret mazes or other type challenging mazes to come. See3pio gained us extra Gamepoints for bringing forth one of his previously hidden abilities which is to create two digitally effective, holographic, decoys of himself by deploying fast moving microdrones; the microdrones both create the holographic projections and draw enemy fire."

Everybody, with only a few exceptions, congratulated See3pio; those who did not were asleep or at least sleepy.

K9herois grumbled softly in his sleep, his head resting on Shimmy's lap as she sat on a cushionchair. The special nappy clad permababies, Sherry and Shandy, shared the same lap; they were of the SMix that numbered 11 female clones. The flash, of yellow-white energies, had fixed them up and enhanced them all to at least some extent. The permateens, Shorey and Shurly, slept curled up together but close to Gavag. Shenny sat with Shendy who looked about the same age as her but who was child like in her maturity; Shendy was heading towards sleep and would soon reach her destination. Shippy was the permafant, permanent infant held in Gavag's arms. The other five SMixers shared space with the other SQuins along with Seekaplayers.

The Shz5 slept curled up in their cage but with the doors open; they had calmed down since the energies flash and now they hugged their very tough dollies to themselves. They were Shazan, Shezem, Shizik, Shozod and Shuzul being living killing machines. Just after the SQuins first moved in, the Shz5 had managed somehow to escape from their cage and take over the room. The SQuins had forbidden anybody else to go in with them and then had entered the chamber; about 10 minutes later the room's main door swung open from the inside. The SQuins were their calm selves and the SzFive were firmly locked back in their cages but now each was wrapped in a tough wearing, but fluffy, quilt and was with her new dolly. After that the Shz5 had caused no more problems, especially when any of the SQuins were with them.

10 penhumans, five pennamals, five androids, five robots and five elementals there were altogether of the Seekaplayers! The five penhuman women were the SQuins. The five penhuman men were Gavag, Le'Nerd, Machomuch, Rattanboy and Sagesmart. The five pennamals were K9herois the wolfdog, Stanley the gorilla, Gunclawdus the tiger, Amphibioto the crocodillian and Wingfastus the eagle. The five androids served as very sophisticated ones pretending to be penhumans. The five robots were Batmanbot, See3pio, MrCarryon, Trieyebot and Robogirlie. The five elementals were simply  named in relation to their base elemental nature being Airius, Fireini, Earthus, Electria and Waterari.

For the moment, at least, matters seemed to be well organised enough so all they had to do was to await further instructions.

Alarms sounded but only briefly as unknown intruders were detected trying to infiltrate into GaiaArkdom0314 of a great, underground, space. They fled away before they could be identified let alone otherwise dealt with. Despite that they could have just been local wildlife, or folk, security was hiked up with the deployment of more security robotics including turrets. Guard numbers were extended as penhumans, pennamals and androids as they took up both patrol plus sentry duties.

[1.5][5] GaiaArkdom0314, While Preparing For The First Testing Mission

Shenny led a group of Seekaplayers to the area of the detected intrusion. With them went Gaiaguards of penhumans, pennamals and androids as backed up by robots.

Very soon they were taking care of local humanoid folk of manoids of different kinds be they mammalian, reptilian or avian of basis. The refugees came with some resources being mostly skills, experience as survivalists, tools and weapons. They were happy to sleep in erected tents, with their canvas floors, wrapped in blankets with comfy head cushions to help to bring on a good sleep. Hot food, drink, cool water was passed around.

What had driven them from their original homelands? A growing war, they spoke of, between forces that the manoids could not quite comprehend. They pointed to the robots but indicated ones that were very much bigger, than the ones there, and then indicated the existence of giant humans of some kind. They quickly reached a point where they did not wish to go on further because of painful memories. Still, some force had come to their rescue and had brought the 300+ refugees along with animals that they had brought with them. Goats had pulled carts with the very young, the elderly and the infirm; there were other goat carts with poultry and a small herd of goats. There would be more refugees arriving via the same means.

Sulushi the Elder spoke as a primate manoid as she held her carefully carved club of office. "Yellow-white energies come-go healing us and fixing what we owned. We awoke close to here but knew not how we came to be here. We were told how to make alarming bells go off for a short time so that is what we did. Now we cultivate crops, tend to our animals, build halls and do much artisan work so that we can repay you for your kindness. We help you prepare for invasion."

Shenny smiled. "That would be very good of you, Sulushi the Elder! Energy barriers protect us here in GaiaArkdom0314 along with heavy physical ones but we will prepare just in case and will happily welcome more refugees."

Around them, in the grassy clearing in a thin forest, locals were assisting the newcomers to build up their encampment who were being introduced to such wonders as flush toilets, hot showers and sight adjusted 3DTV.

[1.6][6] GaiaArkdom0314, While Preparing For The First Testing Mission

A yoyo turret dropped down from a ceiling only to rebound upwards again but too slowly as the android Junglejane destroyed it with an arrow.

In gamesuits, covered by newly issued mazesuits, the penhumans, pennamals and androids were so equipped but all of the robots or any of the elementals.

The sophisticated simuladroids, of androids, had been developing their own favoured personality templates ever since the flash of yellow white energies. Gunslingerjo, DocSmith, TechiSue and Sherlockmar had arisen after Junglejane had first worn her new, outer, body. She seemed to wear only a jungle string-bikini but, being an android, she was not really close to nudity.

Gunslingerjo blazed away with his big, 6shooter, revolver pistols and the tricky Punch&Judy turret blew apart even as the puppets drew out their rocket launcher and machinegun.

The Seekaplayers had been making their way up a series of slippery rampways flowing with fast moving water. There were ways of doing so, places to grip hold of or anchor on but it was not so easy for those with arms and legs.

Shimmy used her mazegun to launch a mazegunball through a silver mazehoop with a possible base award of three Gamepoints. The mazegunball flashed out of existence, as it went through the mazehoop, and they earned the three Gamepoints with out either multiplying it or losing it.

Gavag struck a quick flash showing green banner and the Seekaplayers earned a bonus half Gamepoint.

A Red Baron turret came zigzagging through the air, the small triplane blazing away with twin lasers that looked like old fashioned machineguns.

Shimmy sighed as she squatted in flowing water along with K9herois. "Somebody has a very interesting imagination when it comes to turret design."

Everybody else quietly agreed with the SQuin!

[1.7][7] GaiaArkdom0314, While Preparing For The First Testing Mission

Another 300 plus refugees arrived being mostly manoids, animals, but also carried plants and fungi. With them came animans, of animal-human hybrids and squatter animanoids along with some humans that were not penhumans though they were tough enough. Goat carts were again common, as were herds of goats, sheep, short long haired cattle and flightless omobirds. Horse drawn carts, and fewer wagons of bigger size, came along with horse riders. A minority had more advanced technologies than did the manoids but generally far less so than that of the Gaiaregainers.

The SQuins met the newcomers as Gaiaregainers but not as the more specialised Gaiaseekers that they were. There were modulahuts being assembled from prefabricated sections, platform-towers for the avian manoids, walled off workyards with enclosed workshops at their edges, new ablution blocks, stables, stockyards and much else including more tents.

Gaiaregainers were already visiting the new settlement, often as customers but also with their own items to trade for others. Others were there to serve-support the newcomers, serving people of a more personal nature and support being of a more technical one.

15 newcomers were put into more strongly secured, and isolated, quarantine.

The GA0314 Council quickly made it clear to the newcomers that they were in charge, of the settlement, though that could change in time. The newcomers were on probation though mostly they had already got past that stage as in the manoids.

[1.8][8] GaiaArkdom0314, While Preparing For The First Testing Mission

The First Testing Mission was to be delayed for reasons that the Gamegods, through the Gamelords, did not reveal.

The Seekaplayers would, in future, carry out a Gaming Campaign while the Gaiaseekers would deal with a Questing Campaign which meant, of course, that the same group of people would end up doing both; or that is how it began.

There would be no more 'turret maze' tests as Gamelords had decided that a new set of 4SVR (Super Sensory Stimulation Simulation Virtual Reality) Programs would need to be set up as being more efficient than the arrangement that had previously existed. What, exactly, this meant was not clarified.

Gamepoints were to be further gained through gaming and Questpoints through the achieving of quest goals.

The SQuins found that they could not truly clarify the situation for the other Seekaplayers because they did not know what truly was going on.

1,300+ more refugees arrived being largely manoids but with a fair mixture of others including women of the Order of Compassion, and the Order of Protection guarding it. This group was easily bigger than the ones that had come before. It came with more resources but with far more people in need of them. A triage centre was set up to assess cases and to direct them to hard, medium or light medical response units; the treatments including those for mental health issues.

The First Testing Mission was cancelled as it had become somehow pointless a concept.
