ABlueHairedFox
The buildable lights for outposts (Floodlights, Light Posts, Wall Lights) are waaaaay too bright. Blindingly so. I'm surprised that there are no mods to dim the lights a bit. Anyone able to make a mod for this? aurreth
It's because lights are hard to work with without the CK. Right now you have to make a change, enter the game to check, exit the game, make a change, enter the game... you get the idea. I spent almost two full days this week getting just ONE ceiling light put together. Without the CK to actually see what lights are where and what they are linked to it it's all a guessing game. I'm talking about LGHT objects, not the static or activator itself. The physical lightpost doesn't emit light, there is at least one invisible LGHT object co-located with it that provides the actual light. The game stacks LGHT objects to make lights brighter, or overlaps their cones to make light cover more area. Before you say "couldn't someone just disable one of the LGHTs for these items to make them dimmer?", it's not always that simple. Doing that may make building that lamp impossible, make building anything impossible, or simply cause a CTD. I don't know why, but I've tried to dim the lights in outpost habs a few times and it never ends well. What I do now is put down rugs or other floor coverings, sometimes using the console and setscale to have them cover the entire area. Removing ground reflections helps reduce the glare a lot. ABlueHairedFox
So for now we just gotta wait for the CK to come out?

It's just too much trial and error right now, too time consuming.
