dldrzz000
I've googled for some time for compression settings of different files in BA2, but unfortunately find no comprehensive posts. I hope to create one to not only remind myself but also provide more info to all modders. Any supplement, suggestion or correction is appreciated. Thanks all in advance. Normal meshes, like armor or weapon models, particle, light, facegen ---------- General / Default Precombine and previs meshes, ---------- General / None Scol - Static Collections, Settlement border Meshes ??? ---------- General / None ??? animation files, like hkx and txt ---------- General / Default Papyrus scripts ---------- General / Default Material ---------- General / Default Music ---------- General / None Sounds&Voice ---------- General / None Strings ---------- General / Default Interface like swf files ---------- General / None ??? Normal Textures, like diffuse, normal, specular, glow, etc ---------- DDS / Default Facegen textures ---------- DDS / Default Cubemap textures ---------- General / None It seems that BGS uses 256x256 Single Mip Chunk Area setting for their archived textures but I note no difference when config 512x512, wish anyone could elaborate this. worm82075
SCOL is mixed in with the other "normal" meshes so is likely also Default. Pretty sure the Mip Chunk Setting is related to how the engine accesses the compressed data(ie: Mip Maps) rather than being a compression setting. When in doubt do as Bethesda does.
