Account "Last active" state on user profiles not updating anymore

Hello,

I just not noticed that the "Last Active On" date doesn't work (at least for me).

Even I have signed out and signed in today and on 1st of June 2024 posted a video, but my "Last Active On" shows as 20th May 2024.

Could you please verify if this happens only for me or is this an issue for everyone?

Ok, looks like this is a common issue for everyone. Please see below.

For example, this user has uploaded an image on 4th June 2024.

 

But their last active date still shows as 20th May 2024, same as in my last active date.

Thanks, we're aware that the last active date is not currently very accurate. It's something we hope to improve in the future.

As the title says. I noticed that the "Last active" state stopped being updated on 21 May 2024 as far as I can tell. Have not seen any newer date than that. My guess is that the database maintenance has something to do with it.

Merged multiple posts about the same issue (including @GunterSeverloh's post which included this and an unrelated issue). 

I'll raise this during the week, but this information has been "slightly wrong" for a very long time, so I'm not sure what may have happened recently to make it stop updating more globally.

I would like to agree with RADRR1985's post, which was posted almost 14 days ago! How should the statement "improve in the future" be interpreted? This could also be the case in 2 years - for me it is already untenable NOW, an absolute deterioration with constant ignorance.

For me, this feature of "user activity" is very important so that I don't have to constantly monitor their posts. If a user was actually not online, this may be OK, but if they were, the user could be forgetful or no longer attach any importance to answering. (Show me how you behave and I could probably tell who you are)

Still broken on at least some profiles, too -- including my own.  It says I was last active on May 20, but I've endorsed and commented and downloaded on the main Nexus site since then.  (E.g., my download history page correctly says I last downloaded on June 11.)

It got some attention internally recently. I've given the team of list of when it should be updating. 

This is quite likely to be a side effect the various website updates over the years. The whole site used to be one big monolith of code, which was bad to maintain but did made things like activity tracking more accurate. It's now broken down into smaller chunks, but not all of the chunks update activity in the same way.

That's sort of what I figured. I noticed it a while back but didn't worry much, thinking y'all would get it sorted after more pressing website transition issues. My last active is actually May 21, so there's some inconsistency with the inaccuracy, if that helps.
