Do other games run? Did you make stress tests with your cpu, gpu, ram and harddrive? All of my other downloaded games run at the moment. The biggest problem is since the last actual steam update I can’t get my off brand x-box 1 remote to work. Both Horizon zero dawns, Tomb Raider ALU series as well as the last two in the survivor series all run without issue. As well as World of Warships. Everything works as it should other than that game. Which is weird because it worked without a problem before the next-gen update…I should probably also mention that I have it and Mo2 installed on a SanDisk gaming xdsc card best 1tb card I could get for gaming at least according to all of the research I was able to do. All of my games are there other than World of Warships. I keep that on the internal SSD because otherwise it won’t run smoothly. It’s also the only MMORPG whatever you want to call it that I play. So I highly doubt that is the problem, although I won’t rule it out.
BattleshipsSpaceships57
Just a small update. I finally got the game to run on the next gen update. Apparently I missed a couple of the creation club things. I'm now going to attempt to run the downgrade.
BattleshipsSpaceships57
Okay. Situation update. I can now run the vanilla game without issue but it has to be the updated one. I can’t run the older one at all. It simply will not run no matter what I do. F4SE will not run at all with over 200GB of memory open for it to make use of. I am trying a couple of things at the moment. But it appears I will not be running the downgrades version unless somebody can tell me how to get it to work. I guess so should probably uninstall all of my mods as none of them do not appear to be being updated.
BattleshipsSpaceships57
So yeah...Starting to think it might be F4SE in any form is broken...Pretty sure most mods don't need it, but I was planning to use a lot of weapons mods so... yeah. Any suggestions are welcome.
subaverage
The downgraded version of Fallout 4 will be 163. In this case you need the matching version of F4SE = 0.6.23 from here: https://f4se.silverlock.org Every F4SE add-ons have to match this version. Like Address Library, SUP F4SE and so on. Same with mods that depend on the script extender. Everything has to fit together. F4SE goes into the main Fallout 4 folder. Not Data. It can make sense to start the Fallout4.exe and the f4se_loader.exe as administrator. Maybe the first start should be done directly and not through a mod manager. You know that downgraded versions of FO4 have problems with Creation Club content. Nevertheless here you find some information: Edited June 19 by subaverage

I could have absolutely nothing installed, and it still does the audio settings load crash...when I can get it to launch at all. I guess I'll have to do some more experimentation. BattleshipsSpaceships57
Also, upon rereading the thread in that chain, there was a post that talked about FF being in a memory slot...What does that mean. Here is the quote from that page. "You cut it off at plugins. Look at that section and if you see a mod with FF in the memory space - it's a plugin limit issue if that is the case." Now I have a bunch of crash logs, but in the last one the only thing in the plugins section at all are the game itself and UltimateFO4Patch. That is literally it in the entire section. of plugins, yet the crash still persists on a completely vanilla installation. I'm totally confused at this point so any guidance is extremely welcome and much appreciated. Here is the entire plugins section of the latest crashlog. F4SE PLUGINS: Buffout4.dll v1.28.6 BulletCountedReload.dll cbp.dll f4ee.dll HighFPSPhysicsFix.dll RobCo_Patcher.dll v3.6 StimpaksHealNoLimbs.dll v1 WeaponDebrisCrashFix.dll v1.3 PLUGINS: [ 0] Fallout4.esm [ 1] DLCRobot.esm [ 2] DLCworkshop01.esm [ 3] DLCCoast.esm [ 4] DLCworkshop02.esm [ 5] DLCworkshop03.esm [ 6] DLCNukaWorld.esm I can post the entire thing if needed. DjinnKiller
If you downgraded using one of the mods that keep some of the BA2 files from new-gen, then you are missing the "Backported Archive2 Support System" F4SE plugin. .163. can't read them and probably barfs when you try to start a game. If you have rolled back to a "clean" copy of .163 (ie a copy without the new BA2 files), then remove all mods, remove F4SE and all plugins, delete the Fallout 4 folders under Appdata\Local and Documents, and try to launch the game with the default launcher. What happens then?
fraquar
I have no idea what the download entails. I will say this though - just do the downgrade. You should literally have NO mods installed to make sure the upgrade was done properly. All you need is F4SE and the Scripts - that's it. No Bullet Counted Reload, no Buffout 4, no High Physics Fix, etc. i.e. Nothing. --------- You add that stuff AFTER you have completed the downgrade successfully.
