Can't change staging folder after drive died

Hi,

I can't figure out how to get vortex working with fo4 again.  I had everything (games/mods/downloads/etc) set up on my d:\ drive, which has died.  it's still installed from recovery attempts, but most folders are unreadable.

i've installed a new x:\ drive, installed steam/fallout, reinstalled vortex, & moved the downloads folder to x:\.

starting vortex, i get the error mod staging folder missing.  Click reinitialize and try to change mod staging folder to x:\.  it gives me an error that it can't access d:\, and fails.

i've read that i need to purge my mods list to switch the staging folder, but i can't do that without a deployment method.  and i can't set a deployment method without a staging folder.

i'm a simple girl.  i just want to nuke some super mutants after a long day at work.  any suggestions to get up and running again is really appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, pickysaurus!

I do have everything in a subfolder (x:\games\mods\vortex mods).  sorry, i should've been more specific in my op

i did get the issue solved though, in case any one else comes across this issue.  i've completely removed the failed drive from the case now that recovery attempts are done.  I think the issue might've been vortex could see the old folders but couldn't read them.  i was able to follow all the prompts this time around and reinitialize on the new drive.  first mod has been successfully deployed 😄
