Walter does not appear

Hi everyone,

I've got a bug in my new game, when I first arrive at the Lodge, Walter is transparent, I can't hear him speak and this bugs the main quest so I can't continue it.

I've got quite a few mods (over 150), so I'm wondering where this is coming from, but if anyone has had this problem before, it would be a great help!

Unfortunately without a working SF1edit release makes it hard to mass open mods to see which one may have edited him to create this so if it is a mod, the arduous task of turning them off and on one at a time to figure out which one may be doing it.

Make a new save just in case to back it up, what you could try is using the console to select him I think his id is 5998 with prid 5998 (if that doesn't work try 5996).

Then do a disable, enable on him. If that doesn't work, try recycleactor.

Also it may just be that he's somewhere around the lodge, so you can try moveto player to place him right next to you.

4.1.5g works fine for almost everything.  It is still limited in its handling of Medium and Light masters, but it opens everything pretty well so you can have a look around.

Had the same issue. Not sure how I solved it, but I do believe either a conflict or too many mods. I had 115 esm's, found that,  game was getting wierd behaviour.  Like not being able to talk to npcs, getting quests, missing textures, dialogue, etc.  Have cut my list to 94 now and the game has been stable.  When I hit this issue, nethier walter or the other dude did not appear, nor talk, just Sarah dialogue.  So, I saved just before entering lodge for the first time.  Then disabled mods and entered the lodge.  Once  the subtitles appeared, I re-added mods 1 at a time, not sure if it was a mod though, cause after reading that plugin limits vary, I removed all mods that I felt were unneeded.  So I would try reducing the number of mods and see of that works.
