dirtyjaq
Dear Vortex Support Team, I hope this email finds you well. I am experiencing an issue with Vortex while trying to manage the game "Octopath Traveler 2." The error message states, "Failed to set game mode," and indicates a missing file: C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Octopath_Traveler2\Octopath_Traveler2\Content\Paks\~mods. I have attempted the following solutions to resolve the issue: Verified the integrity of game files through Steam. I ensured that I had run the game at least once after installation. Reinstalled Vortex with the latest version from Nexus Mods. Checked the game store requirements for enabling modding. Manually created the missing directory ~mods in the specified path. Despite these efforts, the issue persists. I am unsure how to proceed further and would appreciate any guidance or assistance you can provide to help resolve this problem. Thank you for your time and support. Best regards,
Solution Pickysaurus Posted August 5 Solution Share Posted August 5 Based on the message, you need to create the folder at: C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Octopath_Traveler2\Octopath_Traveler2\Content\Paks\~mods For help with the extension, you can contact the developer here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/166 It's very likely the developer of the extension is not properly checking that the folder exists (and creating it if it is missing).
