COCayneT
Has anyone managed to figure out what makes packins show up in the Create Recipe menu in CK? If I copy a packin that already works for recipes, then delete everything and put my own objects in, it works just fine. If I simply create a new packin, it doesn't show up in the right-click context menu and can't be added manually either through the Create Recipe menu. I have poured through dozens of packins of both types from the base game files, and can't seem to find anything that specifies what the difference is. I've tried adding keywords, specifying as grouped workshop item, etc. There doesn't seem to be anything correlating this behavior.
aurreth
Packins reference an associated Cell, which contains references to the objects the packin places. Did you also copy and edit the appropriate Cell?
COCayneT
Packins have an association to their own storage cell which is created dynamically (can't be loaded through the cell menu, only by going to the packin and selecting "Edit in Render Window") and is based on the name of the packin. for example: A vanilla packin named "RoofPlatform_01F", when edited in the render window, opens the cell PackInRoofPlatform01FStorageCell. This isn't a cell you will find in the Cell list even though it is classified as an Interior cell. This is true for all base packins. There is no cell to copy because the cell is only editable through the packin itself. If I copy this packin (duplicate) the newly created packin will have a new packin storage cell created for it called PackInStorageCellDUPLICATE001COPY0000 (initial default) which changes to the new name you set the first time you edit and reload it - in this case it is renamed to PackInCoctRoofPlatform01FStorageCell (because I named the duplicate coct_RoofPlatform_01F) So I am not sure what you mean, if you go into a cell that is already built out (a permanent cell that you can find in the cell list) and copy something there into a new packin, the same thing happens. The newly created packin automatically generates a storage cell that contains references to the base forms of the items you chose with any changes made to the base form from the cell you picked them from. However they aren't still referencing the cell you pulled them out from. Either way, the packins work fine, the issue is I can't seem to figure out what makes them eligible to be used in a recipe i.e. a constructible object. There are plenty of base vanilla packins that are eligible, and plenty that aren't. so it isn't an issue with newly created packins. And the fact that you can copy an eligible packin, then completely remove everything in it, and put literally anything else in it and it is still eligble implies that whatever the issue is, it isn't with the objects in the packins. It's almost like they forgot to put a checkbox somewhere that says "Make this usable in recipes" or something. lol.
