RedHeadAngel
Hello. I'm Angel, and I'm new here. I've been looking through mods but can't decide which ones to try. Are there any that would be good to start on?
Karna5
I think the fact you didn't immediately install everything you saw is a good sign, RedHeadAngel. Most people who run into grief modding (and this sometimes includes me) run into issues because they install too many mods in a row without actually trying in them in game to make sure they don't have conflicts or incompatibilities. Just take your time, and when you see something you like, install it and then go in game and try it out for a bit. I could give suggestions, and I know others will, but the reality is once you start modding Skyrim you're going to be adding mods forever, hopefully only one or two at a time. So just take your time and enjoy the game
drsemmel
I think a good point to start is looking into the "utility" section and look there for useful things (bug fixes etc). Get the basics like SKSE, Adress library, USSEP (maybe), engine fixes and so on. And decide for a modmanager, if you haven´t already (MO2 or Vortex)

Either way, I appreciate your reply.

BTW, that guy has a voice fit for reading actual poetry.

I've used Mod Organizer myself in some form for more than a decade -- and even run it in Linux now -- so I can probably answer most questions you're likely to have. Vortex I haven't used myself,* so I'd probably point you to the Vortex forum here instead. * Vortex came along years after MO1 did. And I haven't modded games much that Vortex supports but MO1 and/or MO2 don't.

Many ppl seem to like it. What I don´t get are the heated discussions about which one is "better" (and that is hilarious in the face of the fact that some folks still enjoy NMM - who cares ^^). 12 hours ago, RedHeadAngel said: Are there any that would be good to start on? When the basic utilities are covered I would move on to beautifying the game (texture/architecture overhauls and the like). Game mechanics I would touch only when I know the vanilla game well enough. It's incredibly blind friendly and easy to use, and it handles half a terabyte of mods and 600+ plugins concurrently without issue.

I know many ppl love it. But I often read belittling comments about it (usually from the same guys that engage in nuclear warfare about "whats better - vortex or mo2?"). I do not condone that. Everyone should just use the modmanager that they like best without getting harassed over it.

If he voices audiobooks, I´d be ready to buy it ^^
